AN entertaining SANFL Women’s home and away season comes to a close this weekend with three teams still battling it out for the last finals spot. A few weeks back it was Norwood’s spot to lose, needing just one win in the last three rounds to secure fourth – and even potentially chase the top three sides – but after back-to-back losses, the Redlegs now must win in Round 14 to play finals.

How do they make it?
Put simply, Norwood must either defeat or draw with West Adelaide to advance. The win puts the Redlegs at least a point clear if Sturt wins, while a draw would still make it impossible for the Double Blues with a massive percentage difference.

How do they make it?
Like Norwood, West Adelaide must win its match to be in the box seat, but also must be careful that Sturt do not win by more to give the Double Blues a chance of overtaking the Bloods on percentage.

How do they make it?
Sturt has the toughest task as it does not simply need to win to make it in. While the Double Blues do indeed need to take care of their own match against the Eagles, they also have to hope that West Adelaide defeats Norwood, but in a tight one. Sturt still needs to catch the Bloods on percentage which is luckily only one per cent.
WHO DOES THE SUCCESSFUL SIDE PLAY IN THE FINALS?
The fourth placed side would either head to Elizabeth or Glenelg depending on the other match results. In an incredible piece of fortune for the SANFLW and its fans, each of the four remaining games involve a “live” element.
Top two sides South Adelaide and Central District face off, and if the Bulldogs get up, then Glenelg will finish third and host the fourth placed side. However, if Glenelg wins, and South Adelaide beats Central District, then last year’s premiers will drop to third and have to go the long route if they are to win back-to-back flags.
