Zac Harding has the hallmarks of a competitive, old-school ruck. The Murray Bushrangers prospect is a physically imposing tall who fulfils his duty of winning the initial contest, but also throws his strong frame around at the fall of the ball and will make his presence felt defensively.

Such play leads to high-production games, where Harding amasses hitouts, tackles, clearances, and marks around the ground. While contested marking has been an area for improvement, Harding is quite solid overhead and is capable of helping the defence or sneaking forward to impact aerially.

Improvement will come once Harding can get an extended run on-field and enhance his running capacity. He is also less athletic than other talls going around, but has a more mature frame. Harding is the son of former Fitzroy player, Dean, and models his game on St Kilda's Rowan Marshall.
