A mature-age midfielder out of Swan Districts, Lawson Humphries is a natural footballer with a lot of classy traits. His ball use and decision making particularly stand out, and the 20-year-old can use it well off both sides with plenty of poise in his game. For the Black Ducks this season, Humphries took a leap forward in his game, going from an average of 14.7 disposals last season at Reserves level, to 22.6 per game in 2023. He also managed nine League games.

He also hit the scoreboard more often, and showed off the impact he can have with ball-in-hand as Swans took out the Reserves flag. The knocks on his game will come in the form of his explosiveness and athleticism, but if clubs can overlook that, then Humphries can be a readymade addition to any side. To his credit, the former West Coast Next Generation Academy player tested well at the state combine to showcase his athletic progression.
