THERE is only a fortnight to go in this year’s VFL Women’s season, but that does not mean the fun and excitement is anywhere close to ending. We preview each game across the latest round of action, which sees plenty of finals implications thrown up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a potentially very interesting clash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last time around, the Saints really took it up to the Bombers and ultimately drew the match, so tomorrow\u2019s match could really go either way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One thing that will work in the Saints favour is that they are the home side this time around, and the conditions at Trevor Barker are much more different to that at the Hangar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both sides have some handy inclusions this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Saints regain Olivia Flanagan<\/a> this week, while the Bombers get Renee Tierney<\/a>, Jordan Zanchetta<\/a> and Kendra Heil<\/a> all back this week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Casey has proven it can comfortably beat teams around the place on the ladder that Carlton currently sits, but playing at Ikon Park seems to bring a new side out of the Blues, and they are a much better unit at home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Casey will go into the match as favourites, but Carlton will ensure the Demons do not have everything their way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n There is also more riding on this match for the Dees then there is for the Blues. Casey needs to win to keep in touch with the top two, while Carlton can no longer make finals, so really has nothing to lose. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Carlton’s job will be a little bit harder because Casey has brought in some AFLW stars in Shelley Heath<\/a>, Megan Fitzsimon<\/a> and Eliza West<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n It is do or die for the Falcons this weekend. It is as simple as that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n One more loss and they can kiss a miracle finals appearance goodbye for 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Hawthorn, on the other hand, will be buoyed with confidence having matched it with competition front runner Essendon last week. The Hawks are back at home again this week, which is always a positive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Hawks regain Jess Trend<\/a> and Mietta Kendall<\/a> for this clash, but lose the likes of Jenna Richardson<\/a> and Kristen Hay<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile for the Falcons, Ellen Buckley<\/a> and Simone Ruedin<\/a> are back this week, but Alice Caddy<\/a> and Sabine Cowley Du Parquet<\/a> are both out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n There is definitely more riding on it for the Roos in this one then there is the Bulldogs, there is no two ways about it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Roos are in a very similar situation to the Falcons. One more loss and they can kiss a finals appearance goodbye for 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n For the Bulldogs on the other hand, they will be keen to get at least one win on the board out of their last two matches so that they do not go through the whole season winless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Both of these sides gain some NAB League talent in this week. Candice Belbin<\/a> joins the Roos, while Jamie-Lee Speakman<\/a> is coming in for the Bulldogs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n This is another match where both sides are in very different situations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Port on the one hand cannot make finals anymore so they has nothing to lose in this last fortnight of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Pies on the other hand, are in the top six but cannot afford to rest on their laurels just yet. However, realistically they only need one more win to secure their place in the finals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Akayla Peterson<\/a> is a handy in for the Borough this week, but they do lose Olivia Barton<\/a> and Jessica Joyce<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile Collingwood gain back Tricia Cowan<\/a> and Ebony Wroe<\/a>, but lose Aliesha Newman<\/a>, Joanna Lin<\/a> and Ebony O’Dea<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Williamstown will certainly be out to spoil a few parties on Sunday as the day’s only game takes place at Downer Oval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Seagulls can no longer make finals, so like many other sides in the competition do not have anything to lose anymore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n They come up against a Geelong side whose place in the finals is secured, but the Cats are still pushing for that top four spot and the double chance, thanks to the VFLW’s unique finals model. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Lori Stepnell<\/a> is back in for the Seagulls this week, while Tamara Smith<\/a> is back in for the Cats. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\nCarlton vs Casey
