The Fremantle NGA prospect returned to club colours after donning the Black Swan against Vic Metro last weekend and was steady, finishing with 14 disposals. Although it was not his most influential game, the 18 year-old showed a glimpse of some of the talent that could make him a draftable player in the final term, intercepting a South Fremantle handball before going on a dazzling run and evading an opponent before just missing his shot on what would have been an amazing individual goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
#11 Lewis Crump<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
With Claremont\u2019s main midfield duo of Max Mumme and Mitch Barron absent, Crump was given the chance to play as an inside midfielder and he was impressive at stages, showing good speed and power to be a dangerous player around the clearances. The 18-year-old had an excellent start to the game and kicked a brilliant running goal in the second term before fading out after the long break to finish with 15 disposals and five inside 50s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
#17 Joshua Sukuroski<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
The athletic defender has been a consistent contributor for Claremont this season and he put in another good performance against South Fremantle, racking up 27 disposals and five marks to be his side\u2019s best player. The Scarborough product was strong in the contest and positioned himself nicely behind the ball to take a couple of intercept marks and provide some good rebound from defence when his team was under the pump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
SOUTH FREMANTLE:<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
#3 Chase Bourne<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 18-year-old returned to the Bulldogs side after playing for WA against Vic Metro last week and looked a class above at colts level, gathering 25 disposals and 10 marks playing as a midfielder and forward. The Fremantle City product was often tasked with the \u2018money kick\u2019 inside 50 and he used the ball excellently, often drawing the leading forward to the football instead of trying to spear it onto a chest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
#36 Christian Wilson<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was no surprise to find Wilson as the game\u2019s leading ball winner once again, as he gathered 33 disposals and seven marks to be the dominant midfielder afield. He played the complete game, winning a heap of the ball at the source whilst also spreading hard and using the ball well, as he often lowered his eyes nicely to hit a short target in the corridor. The only thing missing from his game was scoreboard impact, with the 17 year-old missing a couple of chances to split the middle. Despite missing selection in the State 18s, Wilson is continuing to put his head down and work hard at Colts level, averaging 29.4 disposals per game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
#41 Ed Graham<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 193cm forward has had limited appearances for South Fremantle this season due to playing PSA footy with Scotch College, but he was a very welcome inclusion to the side against the Tigers, as he managed 20 disposals, seven marks, 10 hitouts and three goals to have a massive influence on the game. The Narrogin product had a sensational start to the game, kicking two majors inside the first ten minutes, and continued to cause headaches for Claremont throughout the game, particularly as a contested marking player.<\/p>\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\nAROUND THE GROUNDS:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Perth kept in touch with the top five with an important 17-point victory over Swan Districts at Steel Blue Oval. Oliver Zolnier-Owens<\/strong> (30 disposals) and Oscar Hine-Baston<\/strong> (27) found plenty of the football for the Demons, while Connor McDonald<\/strong> marked his addition to the State 18s squad with 26 disposals. For Swans, Jack Saunders<\/strong> continued his fine season with 31 touches and Luke Kelly<\/strong> worked hard to gather 28 disposals and lay 12 tackles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Peel Thunder made a statement, downing ladder leaders West Perth by 55-points at Pentanet Stadium. The Thunder were well served by midfielders Ethan Donaghy<\/strong> (24 disposals) and Scott Tuia<\/strong> (23) while small forward Byron Finch<\/strong> hit the scoreboard with three majors. Ashton Waters<\/strong> was the leading ball-winner for the Falcons with 18 disposals and Jack De Marte<\/strong> booted two goals up forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Subiaco made it three consecutive wins after defeating East Fremantle by 35-points at Leederville Oval. Jack Gouge<\/strong> (22 disposals) was busy for the Lions while bottom-ager Koopa Walsh<\/strong> and Ryan Newick<\/strong> combined for seven goals between them. For the Sharks, Kaleb Smith<\/strong> was excellent in midfield, gathering 31 disposals, and Samuel Otto<\/strong> continued his strong form, booting four majors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
