THE AFLW Debut season focus is back for season 7, where we take a look at some of the better player performances from those who make their debut in season 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With it being round one of a new season on the weekend, there certainly was not a shortage of new faces out on the park across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Thursday night in the season opener, Imogen Evans<\/a> had a solid first outing, finishing with eight touches, seven tackles and a goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile on Friday night, Maeve Chaplin<\/a> had a solid debut too, with eight touches, two marks and a tackle to her name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There was no shortage of debutants on Saturday with all four of the competition\u2019s newest sides taking to the park for the first time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n But before those four sides took to the park, Taylah Gatt<\/a> was having a pretty solid debut, with nine touches, a mark and two tackles. Meanwhile team mate Vikki Wall<\/a> also finished with nine touches but also had five marks and a whipping seven tackles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Over in Perth, Kate Bartlett<\/a> was lively in her side\u2019s win over Port, finishing with nine disposals, three marks, a tackle and a goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Team mate Ella Roberts<\/a> had a solid first up performance, finishing with ten touches, two marks and a whopping seven tackles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile for the conquered Port side, Elizabeth McGrath<\/a> (eight touches, one mark, six tackles and 29 hit outs) played well in the ruck, while Hannah Ewings<\/a> (10 disposals and four marks) had a solid enough debut but could have been more accurate in front of goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The real star was Abbey Dowrick<\/a>, who finished with 21 touches, six marks, four tackles and a Rising Star nomination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile out at North Sydney Oval St Kilda\u2019s only league debutant Hannah Stuart<\/a> finished with 12 touches, a mark and a tackle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile for the Swans Molly Eastman<\/a> (15 touches, two marks and four tackles), Ella Heads<\/a> (nine touches, two marks and three tackles), Lauren Szigeti<\/a> (11 touches, two marks and two tackles), Paige Sheppard<\/a> (12 touches, two marks and two tackles) and Montana Ham<\/a> before she got injured (11 touches, two marks and eight tackles) all played well in their first game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On Saturday night at Marvel it was Essendon who prevailed over Hawthorn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For the victors Amelia Radford<\/a> finished with nine touches, a mark and two tackles, while Paige Scott<\/a> starred with 16 touches, four marks, three tackles, one goal and one Rising Star nomination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile for the Hawks Sophie Locke<\/a> finished with ten touches, three marks, five tackles, and the most emotional goal of the weekend. Zoe Barbakos<\/a> did not touch the ball much but certainly impacted on the scoreboard with two majors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Catherine Brown<\/a> finished with 11 disposals, one mark and two tackles, while Jasmine Fleming<\/a> finished with 12 touches, one mark and three tackles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Eliza Shannon<\/a> (12 touches, three marks and three tackles) and Tamara Smith<\/a> (14 touches, one mark and nine tackles) also saw plenty of the ball in the loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Moving on to Sunday, and out at Ikon Park Rylie Wilcox<\/a> (13 disposals, two marks and a tackle) saw plenty of the ball in her side\u2019s win over GWS. Meanwhile for the visitors Madison Brazendale<\/a> (11 touches, two marks, four tackles) saw plenty of the ball while Cambridge McCormack<\/a> (nine touches, two marks, four tackles, 18 hit outs) held her own in the ruck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Up at the Gabba, although Brisbane dominated the game Megan Kauffman<\/a> continued her good preseason form and had a decent game for Fremantle, finishing with nine touches, two marks and two tackles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile the final game of the round was down at GMHBA Stadium, and despite her side going down Eilish Sheerin<\/a> starred for the Tigers, finishing with 19 disposals, five marks, four tackles, a whopping 17 intercepts and a whopping 407m gained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n
