A NEW season of AFLW has begun in earnest over last weekend, so let us take a look at some of the stats leaders from Round 1, and who really turned it on for their teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of the competition\u2019s most experienced faces led the way on the disposal count front on the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Leading the pack was Roo Jasmine Garner<\/a>, who finished with 27 touches. Alyce Parker<\/a>, Madison Prespakis<\/a> and Mimi Hill<\/a> all touched the ball 26 times, while Dee Eliza West<\/a> matched Garner’s round-high tally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n There were some impressive numbers from midfielder in this category to come out of the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Leading the way with a whopping eight inside 50s was Adelaide star Anne Hatchard<\/a>, followed by Garner and Hawthorn skipper Tilly Lucas-Rodd<\/a> on six.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rounding out the top five, ironically with five inside 50s each, is Ally Anderson<\/a> and Stephanie Cain<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Moving across to the rebound 50s, and although the players listed are very different, the numbers are just impressive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Crow Chelsea Biddell<\/a> leads the way with nine, followed by Catherine Brown<\/a> on eight, Lucy McEvoy<\/a> on seven and Libby Birch<\/a> and Emma O’Driscoll<\/a> on five apiece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Moving across to the tackle count, and there were some impressive numbers pulled over the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Both Tarni White<\/a> and Maria Moloney<\/a> laid a whopping 14 tackles each, followed by Ebony Marinoff<\/a>, Jacqui Yorston<\/a> and Eliza James<\/a>, who each cracked double-digits with 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n There were also some impressive numbers pulled in the intercept possession count too. As mentioned in her player focus yesterday, Eilish Sheerin<\/a> had a debut to remember against Geelong, finishing with a whopping 17 intercept possessions. Lucy McEvoy<\/a> finished with 10, while Jessica Sedunary<\/a>, Meghan McDonald<\/a> and Clara Fitzpatrick<\/a> all finished with nine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n There were some impressive running performances on the weekend, and a lot of metres gained across the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The top five players all gained over 400m for their respective teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sarah Hosking<\/a> led the comp with 455m, followed by Abbey Dowrick<\/a> with 416m and Sheerin with 407m. Prespakis gained 406m while Karen Paxman<\/a> gained only a metre less.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n There were also some impressive clearance numbers to come out of the weekend. Swans co-captain Lauren Szigeti<\/a> led the way with eight, followed by Ellie Blackburn<\/a>, Kiara Bowers<\/a> and Emma Swanson<\/a> all with seven. Mia King<\/a> rounds out the top five with six clearances to her name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Finally looking at goals, and it is Kate Shierlaw<\/a> who leads the way with four, followed by a trip of threes \u2013 Tahlia Randall<\/a>, Ashleigh Woodland<\/a> and Cora Staunton<\/a>. Greta Bodey<\/a> rounds out the top five with two goals to her names.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\nInside 50s<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
