Quick goals are starting to become a habit for Adelaide<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the second week in a row, Adelaide got the first goal of the game in record breaking time. Last week it was Danielle Ponter<\/a> 19 seconds against the Demons, while yesterday it was Eloise Jones<\/a> in a mere 20 seconds. The two goals are the fastest in AFL Women’s history, and both came in successive weeks in big games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Adelaide weather certainly played havoc in this clash. With a huge storm sweeping over Unley Oval, the game was initially delayed by 30 minutes and then delayed again by 20 minutes at quarter time. The storm caused huge issues with the visibility, with those watching at home unable to truly understand how dark it got due to the camera settings. The amount of water on the ground after the storm was quite a site to see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Anne Hatchard<\/a> saw plenty of the ball, finishing with 24 touches and six tackles, Ebony Marinoff<\/a> only touched the ball 12 times. However, she certainly found other ways to make her impact on the game. She landed a whopping 13 tackles in the game, so she laid more tackles than she disposed of the ball. However the likes of youngsters Madison Newman<\/a> (19 disposals) and Teah Charlton<\/a> (15) filled the void.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the tough result, one Pie that can hold their head up was Jaimee Lambert<\/a>. The ball magnet had a nice and healthy dose of leather poisoning, finishing with 23 touches in a game where good clean disposals were at a premium. She also had six clearances and had a couple of behinds. Chloe Molloy<\/a> also got off the chain in the wet with 15 disposals, six marks, seven tackles and three clearances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This match was quite a slog fest, which may ultimately take a toll on the Crows. They already have a tough challenge next week in the form of Brisbane, but the fact that today\u2019s match was a slog will not help them in their recovery and preparation.<\/p>\n
