IT may only be a week since the enthralling end to the AFLW Season 7, where Melbourne overcame a determined Brisbane outfit to earn their first premiership, but some clubs have not wasted time in planning for 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several sides have already made changes to their lists for the 2023 season, so let us take a look across the competition to see who has been let go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ADELAIDE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Crows have cut a trailblazer, deciding to not renew the contract of Ailish Considine<\/a>, who was the first Irish AFLW Premiership player.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Injuries have not been kind to Considine this season, with a hamstring injury keeping her from playing any games in Season 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ESSENDON<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Essendon is one of a few of the Season 7 expansion clubs to have already started work on its 2023 list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Bombers have delisted three players so far – Jordan Zanchetta<\/a>, Bella Ayre<\/a>, and Olivia Barton<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n None of the three managed to establish a spot in Essendon\u2019s inaugural season, playing three, zero and one games respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n GWS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Giants have cut a pair of their 2021 draftees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Georgie Fowler<\/a> and Cassidhe Simmons<\/a> have not been given contracts for next season, with Fowler only managing three games across two seasons, while Simmons made two appearances last season before nose and concussion issues meant she did not add to that this time around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n PORT ADELAIDE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Port Adelaide was the first club to make any changes to their list, delisting inaugural ruck Elizabeth McGrath<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Originally from Victoria, McGrath was one of Port\u2019s pre-draft signings, and departs Alberton after three matches in the Power’s inaugural season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n RICHMOND<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Richmond has made one list change so far this offseason, not renewing the contract of Hannah Burchell<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n An inaugural Tiger, Burchell played 18 games across three seasons for the Tigers before an ACL saw her miss the entirety of Season 7. She also played one game for Geelong back in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n SYDNEY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Swans have made two changes to their inaugural list, with Zoe Hurrell<\/a> and Gena Lawson-Tavan<\/a> both released. Hurrell was recruited after 10 seasons in Sydney\u2019s Premier competition, and played two games at the top level. Lawson-Tavan, who was a replacement player for Alice Mitchell<\/a>, managed seven games having debuted in Round 1. She was recruited from stalwart VFLW club, Darebin Falcons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n WEST COAST<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n West Coast has been the busiest of all the AFLW clubs this offseason, cutting four players already from its Season 7 list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Inaugural Eagles Hayley Bullas<\/a> and Imahra Cameron<\/a>, as well as young defender Emily Bennett<\/a> and replacement player Ashleigh Gomes<\/a> have all been cut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n
