THE TASMANIA Devils convened at the Silverdome in Launceston recently to partake in their annual preseason testing event, under the eye of Rookie Me<\/em>. Under 18 talent from both the boys and girls squads underwent a range of physical tests; from vertical jumps, to sprints and endurance running.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was no player quicker than Rocky Barron <\/strong>in the boys’ portion of testing, with the 179cm over-ager topping the timesheet in both the 20m sprint and agility test. He finished in front of Bowen Clemons<\/strong> in the former, as Clemons showcased his speed-endurance mix with a fourth-place yo-yo test result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elsewhere, Blake Harper<\/strong> joined Clemons as an under-ager to have impressed, He snaring podium finishes in the standing and running vertical jumps. A pair of AFL Draft prospects also fared well in the yo-yo test. Midfielder Colby McKercher<\/a> was last to finish on level 21.5, while fellow top-ager Tom Beaumont<\/a> came in third, a couple of levels behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bottom-ager Taia Lette was the star of the girls’ testing, achieving top five results in four of the six events. She put up unbeaten scores in the standing and running vertical jumps, as well as the 20m sprint in a terrific all-round effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AFLW Academy member Georgia Clark<\/a> displayed her aerial ability with top five finishes in all three jumping tests. Top-ager Madison Lamb<\/a> topped the running vertical leaps, finishing level with Grace White<\/strong> on 60cm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
