REIGNING premiers North Adelaide got back on the SANFL Women’s winners list in a big way and recorded the most representatives in the Rookie Me Central Team of the Week for Round 3. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Roosters had five representatives make the 24-player squad, with fellow winners Central District, Glenelg and South Adelaide all contributing four apiece. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There was a gap to the four losers, with Norwood, West Adelaide and Woodville-West Torrens managing two each, while Sturt had the solitary representative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
North Adelaide’s five representatives are spread across the three areas of the ground, with defender Ella Quinn<\/a> in defence after 22 disposals, three marks, three tackles, two clearances, three inside 50s and two rebound 50s in her side’s big win. <\/p>\n\n\n\n On a wing yet again is Katelyn Pope<\/a> (23 disposals, five marks, seven tackles, two clearances, three inside 50s and five rebound 50s), with her partner-in-crime Julia Clark<\/a> (19 disposals, five marks, nine tackles and three clearances) also in the side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Up forward, a couple of Roosters who combined for seven goals naturally slot into the side, with Jaimi Tabb<\/a> (four goals from 10 disposals and two marks) and Sky Jensen<\/a> (14 disposals, three marks, four tackles, three inside 50s and three goals) topping the round’s leading goalkickers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Also inside 50 is this week’s captain Piper Window<\/a>, who takes the reins for the second successive week after a massive 29-disposal, seven-clearance, eight-tackle and three-goal performance in the Bays’ win over Sturt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Her club captain Ellie Kellock<\/a> (21 disposals, five marks – one contested – six tackles, eight clearances, four inside 50s and a goal) features in the starting midfield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Also in the side are the Scholz sisters with Matilda<\/a> (nine disposals, two marks, three tackles, 23 hitouts and 1.1) impressing in her first game since winning an AFLW contract alongside sister Poppy<\/a> (13 disposals, five marks – two contested – and two rebound 50s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The sole Sturt representative in the 24-player squad is Crows talent Kiera Mueller<\/a> (16 disposals, five marks, six tackles and four rebound 50s).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Top of the table South Adelaide produced another four representatives, with speedster Esther Schirmer<\/a> doing an impressive job on Lauren Young<\/a> in the second half. She only had nine disposals and one contested mark herself, but played a key role. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Young, who also made the side at centre half-forward, finished with 23 disposals, five marks, six tackles and six inside 50s. Schirmer was one of two South Australian State Academy members with winger Holly Ifould<\/a> making the team for the second time this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The remaining two Panthers were forward Kyanne Campbell<\/a> who kicked the winning goal – one of two – from five disposals, while midfielder Senna Gulden<\/a> chalked up 19 disposals, five marks, 10 tackles, eight clearances and three rebound 50s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n West Adelaide star Iilish Ross<\/a> was the other Bloods representative in the side after a best-on performance for her team, racking up 18 disposals, four marks, 10 tackles, eight clearances, four inside 50s and two rebound 50s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Central District is the other side to have four representatives in the team, with midfield duo Caitlin Wendland<\/a> and captain Shelby Smith<\/a> selected. Wendland managed 17 disposals, nine tackles, four clearances and five inside 50s, while Smith recorded 26 disposals, three marks, eight tackles, four clearances and three rebound 50s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Defender Georgia Madigan<\/a> (17 disposals, three marks and four rebound 50s) and young gun Jasmine Evans<\/a> – who kicked the winning goal from 10 disposals, five marks and five inside 50s – round out the Bulldogs players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Norwood and Woodville-West Torrens both boast two representatives in the squad, with the Redlegs coming on the bench.
