IMPRESSIVE Round 6 winners Sturt and Central District have recorded a league-high four players in our SANFL Women’s Team of the Week. In what was an even spread across the competition, the Double Blues and Bulldogs were one ahead of four other teams on three players. They were fellow Round 4 winners Norwood and South Adelaide, while tight losers, Glenelg and West Adelaide also had three. North Adelaide and Woodville-West Torrens had the two nominations apiece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Captaining the side this week is West Adelaide youngster Zoe Venning<\/a> following an impressive 32-disposal, eight-mark, three-tackle, three-clearance and six-inside 50 performance in a loss to Norwood. She was joined in the side by fellow midfielder Keeley Kustermann<\/a> and defender Milli Gentle<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Her vice-captain was North Adelaide co-skipper Jessica Edwards<\/a> who continued her consistent form with 29 touches, five marks, eight tackles, three clearances and two inside 50s. Edwards was named in the side along with starting ruck, Isabelle Starmer<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sturt’s big win over Woodville-West Torrens yielded them half of the forwardline, with Monique Bessen<\/a> and India Rasheed<\/a> – who both spent considerable time in the midfield – named alongside Georgia Swan<\/a> who booted 3.2 from 19 disposals and six marks. Rounding out the Sturt contingent was Jasmyn Hewett<\/a> on the bench.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Central District had a quartet of players in the side as well, with key forward Julia Teakle<\/a> holding down full-forward and Port Adelaide AFLW teammate Maria Moloney<\/a> named on the bench. In opposite end pockets, defender Madison Lane<\/a> and forward Jasmine Evans<\/a> – who along with Teakle kicked three goals – also slotted into the team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Norwood had a really even team performance across the board in the victory over West Adelaide, with Tesharna Maher<\/a> named at half-back and Hannah Dunn<\/a> also in the back six. On the bench was versatile utility, Morgan Johnston<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n South Adelaide grabbed the four points over Glenelg and had a trio of talents in the starting squad. Lucy Northcott<\/a> was impressive inside 50, while Caitlin Radbone<\/a> was named at half-back and Brooke Boileau<\/a> made the on-ball division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Glenelg AFLW duo Brooke Tonon<\/a> and Ella Boag<\/a> were both influential in the loss to the Panthers, named at half-back and on the wing respectively, while Bays captain Ellie Kellock<\/a> was named on the bench.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rounding out the 24-player squad was Woodville-West Torrens who had star youngster Shineah Goody<\/a> on a wing and Abbey Dowrick<\/a> on the bench.
