LAST weekend saw some tight results in the VFL Women\u2019s, but whether or not Round 10 holds similar storylines is yet to be determined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The weekend begins tomorrow morning in Port Melbourne, with the Bulldogs set to host Collingwood. Even though the Bulldogs are still officially in finals contention, they are quickly running out of weeks before their finals candle is snuffed out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They face a Collingwood side which has had the wood over them in recent seasons. However, the last time these two sides played at North Port Oval was a win to the Bulldogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking of the Bulldogs, they have only made one change this week, bringing in Mikayla Barnes<\/a> for the ill Trinity Skenderis<\/a>. Meanwhile Collingwood have made five changes, including bringing in the likes of Katelyn Lee<\/a> and Olivia Storer<\/a> for the likes of the injured Riley Christgoergl<\/a> and Tricia Cowan<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Next up is a rematch of last year\u2019s Preliminary Final when Casey travel out to RSEA Park to take on the Southern Saints. These sides may have never met at RSEA Park, recent history sits in favour of the Saints, with the Saints winning the last two matches between the sides. The Saints also have a number of players who have played at the ground at AFLW level, whereas the Dees do not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rebecca Neaves<\/a> is one of two inclusions for the Saints this week, but they lose Deanna Jolliffe<\/a>. Meanwhile the Dees have made five changes, which includes bringing back Melanie Hogg<\/a>, but among the outs is Emma Horne<\/a>, who is out with an ankle injury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At the same time across the bay the Cats will be playing host to Port Melbourne. Despite where the two teams currently sit on the ladder, the head to head tally is very even. Geelong leads the count 2-1, but both teams have won a game each at Deakin Uni, but Geelong\u2019s two wins are the two most recent encounters between the teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Geelong has made five changes this week, which included bringing in Olivia Cicolini<\/a> and Gabbi Featherston<\/a>, but losing Olivia Fuller<\/a> and Renee Garing<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile the Borough have also made five changes, with the likes of Keely Byrne<\/strong> and debutant Georgia Alomes<\/strong> coming in, for the injured Olivia Barton<\/a> and Kaitlyn O’Keefe<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tomorrow afternoon the Kangaroos will be hosting the Hawks in a battle of one side pushing to stay in touch with the top four against a side pushing to stay in touch with the top six. The Kangaroos won the first time these two sides met, but the Hawks have won the two most recent encounters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Kangaroos welcome back Reni Hicks<\/a> and Sophia McCarthy<\/a> among others this week, but lose Cassidy Mailer<\/a> and the injured Kayla Peake<\/a> in the process. Meanwhile the Hawks will welcome back Madeleine Boyd<\/a> and Jess Trend<\/a> as part of three changes, while young stars Hayley McLaughlin<\/a> and Jess Vukic<\/a> make way due to the Eastern Ranges’ Coates Talent League return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sunday\u2019s action begins in Bundoora with Darebin hosting Essendon. Although the pair may have never met at La Trobe University before, recent history is still in Essendon\u2019s favour, with the Bombers winning the last four times these two have met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Darebin have made six changes, including bringing in debutant Stefania Velona<\/strong> and they will warmly welcome back Simone Ruedin<\/a>, but Bec Goring<\/a> and Sally Lynch<\/a> are both huge outs this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile for the Bombers they have also made five changes, bringing in the likes of Bella Clarke<\/a> and Jaimee-Lee Morrow<\/a>, but losing the likes of Krystal Russell<\/a> who will represent the Western Jets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The final game of the round is in Williamstown, with the Seagulls set to play host to Carlton. Williamstown won the last time these two sides met, but Carlton still leads the historical head to head count between the sides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Seagulls have only made two changes, highlighted by the return of Camryn Tyrell<\/strong> for the injured Phoebe Chisholm<\/a>.
