Both these sides come into the match without a win since Round 3, and for last placed East Perth, at all. The Royals have shown competitiveness at different points throughout their inaugural season, but it has ultimately been tough. Peel Thunder on the other hand, started well with two wins from three games – including one against the Royals – but have fallen away due to injuries and unavailabilities to sit second last. This is a game they will not want to drop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHANGES<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Peel Thunder has brought in some more youth at the experience of other experience with Kaitlyn Srhoj<\/a> (AFLW Academy duties), Krystal Carter<\/a> and Gracie Fenton<\/a> out, as is young ruck Kate Newson<\/a>. Returning to the Thunder lineup were names such as Kayla Bradshaw<\/a>, Makinley Minchin<\/a> and Jessica Ruland<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the first time this season, East Perth only made the two changes, with impressive defender Sarah Madden<\/a>, and midfielder Madeleine Goodman<\/a> both coming into the side. They replaced Jaymii Karapetkov<\/a> and Holly Gill<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KEY PLAYERS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Peel Thunder’s defensive duo of skipper Ebony Dowson<\/a> and double bottom-ager Evie Cowcher<\/a> hav been at the forefront of any resistance and loom as key players, as does the experienced Greta McKinley<\/a>. Other youngsters such as Dakota Sexton<\/a> and Holly Britton<\/a> will provide some nice run into attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
East Perth has looked to the likes of Chloe Sauzier<\/a>, Matilda Bennett<\/a> and Jess Valvasori<\/a>, with Bennett holding down the ruck and Sauzier and Valvasori working hard around the ground. Jorja Elisseou<\/a> has stepped up since moving from Claremont, while Mahli Turland<\/a> and Mel Hardy<\/a> have been impressed in defence of late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PREDICTION<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
This is a huge danger game for the Thunder who should still win given the combination of Cowcher and Dowson, but East Perth has improved throughout the season, and given the Thunder’s form, the Royals have a genuine chance here. The homeground advantage might tip Peel over the line.<\/p>\n

East Fremantle had an inspirational win over South Fremantle to get their top two chances back on top prior to the bye which made it three consecutive wins for the Sharks. They will only have a chance of grabbing second with a win, while the same could be said for Swan Districts who are two points behind them. The winner is set to lock up finals unless Subiaco upsets South Fremantle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

East Fremantle will miss a couple of key teenagers for the clash, with ruck\/forward Georgie Cleaver<\/a> (AFLW Academy) and Zippy Fish<\/a> both out of the side. Mylee Leitch<\/a> makes her long-awaited return from injury with Katelyn Catalano<\/a> and Ridma Ratnakele<\/a>, while Nadya Browne<\/a> makes way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Swan Districts has made two chances with Teyharna Curry<\/a> and Ava Stewart<\/strong> named for the clash, replacing Kyah Chirichilli<\/a> and Daisy Rigby<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KEY PLAYERS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
The Sharks have a lot of experienced and quality players across the board, with the midfield of Ashleigh Gomes<\/a>, Sharon Wong<\/a> and Beth Beckett<\/a> hard to counter. Larissa Versaci<\/a> has been added experience to the front half of the ground of late, to complement the forward trio of Anjelique Raison<\/a>, Ashlee Atkins<\/a> and Chloe Reilly<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Swan Districts forward duo of Courtney Zappara<\/a> and Taylah Edwards<\/a> can do a lot of damage if left unchecked, while Cassie McWilliam<\/a> has provided a tall target up forward. The midfield of Ruby Mahony<\/a>, Hope Ugle-Hayward<\/a> an Tyla Fitzgerald<\/a> will not back down and take it up to the more experienced Sharks’ group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PREDICTION<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
It has all the hallmarks of being a thriller, with East Fremantle comfortable at the WACA now, and will be able to use the big expanses of the ground to advantage. Swan Districts can do a lot of damage and cause an upset, not disgraced by Claremont last week and the Black Ducks’ best form prior was good enough to win this game.<\/p>\n
