CLAREMONT flexed its muscles in a 56-point win over West Perth and recorded almost double the amount of players compared to any other team in our Round 15 WAFL Women’s Team of the Week. The reigning premiers has a massive six players, with South Fremantle (four) the next highest. The two other winners and Subiaco recorded three, with the remaining three losers combining for five players in the 24-strong squad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Tigers had some massive ball-winners in their 56-0 win over the Falcons as they racked up 145 more disposals than their opponents. Amassing a league record 38 touches, Jayme Harken<\/a> was named as this week’s captain, while teammate Kate Orme<\/a> was her deputy for Round 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Also in the midfield is Matilda Sergeant<\/a>, while up forward, a trio of Tigers take their spots inside 50. Adele Arnup<\/a> (four goals), Sarah Garstone<\/a> (two) and Jacinta Valentini<\/a> (one) all had big games to make it half a dozen Claremont players in the team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Aside from the Claremont dominant midfield, South Fremantle provided the ruck in Ariana Hetherington<\/a>, with Subiaco skipper Tarnica Golisano<\/a> making it in from the same game. The sides had a combined seven representatives in the team, with the Bulldogs also fielding small forward Noa McNaughton<\/a>, defender Kloe Bassett<\/a> and midfielder Liusaidh Gilchrist<\/a>. The Lions also had Hayley Corlett<\/a> and Madison Dodd<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Subiaco duo Olivia Crane<\/a> and Grace Hahnel<\/a> were close to making the squad, named as emergencies with Peel Thunder’s Jordain Thompson<\/a>. Peel broke its 10-game losing streak and had three representatives in the side, all in the defensive end of the ground. Ebony Dowson<\/a> is a regular in the Team of the Week, while defender\/midfielders Greta McKinley<\/a> and Dakota Sexton<\/a> were also named back there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The other team to have three representatives was Swan Districts, with forward Taylah Edwards<\/a> (four goals) making it into the starting 18, while Ruby Mahony<\/a> and Hope Ugle-Hayward<\/a> were named on the bench. Their opponents East Fremantle had two players in the side, with midfielders Beth Beckett<\/a> and Caylen Crook<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Competing the 24 player side was three players from the Perth teams, with East Perth having two players for a change in ruck Matilda Bennett<\/a> and midfielder Chloe Sauzier<\/a> who were named on the interchange.
