THERE is only one fortnight left in the VFL Women\u2019s season, and this weekend the finals picture should get a little bit clearer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The weekend begins out in Port Melbourne with a do or die clash for the visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Bulldogs are hosting Carlton and while the Bulldogs cannot make finals anymore, if Carlton lose this week it is just about out of finals contention, so cannot afford to drop any points against a Bulldogs side with nothing to lose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both teams have got some big ins this week. The Bulldogs welcome back Dominique Carbone<\/a> and Sarah Skinner<\/a>, while Carlton have brought back Christina Bernardi<\/a> and Madeleine Di Cosmo<\/a>. The Blues have also brought in Northern Knight Ava Jordan<\/a>, who is likely to be one of the top prospects come the draft later this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On the other side of the city, there is yet another clash where there is more on the line for the visitor than the host.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Although Casey is technically still in the finals race, a lot would have to go its way for it to make finals. The Hawks on the other hand are very much still in the finals race, and if results go their way could have one foot in the finals come the end of the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Casey has brought back Kara Henderson<\/a> and Alison Dowler<\/a>, while Abbey Holmes<\/a> and Grace McRae<\/a> are both back for the Hawks this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The third game tomorrow is another do or die clash for one of the combatants, but this time it is the home side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n North Melbourne is hosting Darebin, and much like Carlton, if the Kangaroos lose this weekend they may have to kiss finals goodbye at the end of the weekend. They play a Darebin side who are still pushing for their first win of 2023 and are wanting to finish the year on a high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Georgia Nicholas<\/a> and Kayla Peake<\/a> are both back for the Kangaroos this week, while the Falcons will warmly welcome back skipper Steph<\/a> <\/a>Simpson<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Southern Saints will be out for some redemption in the final game tomorrow as they take on Williamstown back at Trevor Barker Oval. Unable to master the conditions at the ground last week, the Saints will be keen to avoid history repeating itself this week against a Williamstown side looking to put one foot in the finals this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Georgia McLean<\/a> headlines three inclusions for the Saints this week, while Sophie Damon<\/a> and Scarlett Dunell<\/a> are both back for the Seagulls this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sunday\u2019s action begins at the AIA Centre, where Collingwood will host the Cats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With half a game separating the pair on the ladder and with both teams able to put one foot in the finals this week with a win, this is a big game for both teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Collingwood welcomes back Nyakoat Dojiok<\/a> this week, but lose both Rene Caris<\/a> and Amy Kane<\/a> to concussion protocol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile Hannah Burchell<\/a> will make her Geelong debut in her first game back after an ACL injury, while Olivia Cicolini<\/a> and Gabbi Featherston<\/a> are also among the inclusions for Geelong this week,<\/p>\n\n\n\n Much like the first game of the weekend, the last game of the weekend is also in Port Melbourne as the Borough host the Bombers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Much like the Collingwood-Geelong game, there is only half a game separating the Borough and Bombers on the ladder and both teams can put one foot in the finals this week with a win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Olivia Barton<\/a> and Courteney Bromage<\/a> are both back in for Port this week, while AFLW Tiger Charley Ryan<\/a> will be making her club debut this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
