A DOMINANT performance from the Allies has seen them dispatch of Vic Metro by 44 points at Brighton Homes Arena today. Both sides were undefeated coming into the clash, but a dominant seven goals to one opening term set up a huge 15.9 (99) to 8.7 (55) victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was the likes of Suns Academy member Jed Walter<\/a> who kick-started the huge win, booting the first goal of the game and finishing with three first quarter goals. The Allies looked incredible, and Tasmanians Heath Ollington<\/a> and Arie Schoenmaker<\/a> produced some epic first term majors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Despite Will Elliott<\/a> finally getting his side on the board in the 16th minute \u2013 when trailing by 31 points \u2013 Walter and Jake Rogers<\/a> both slammed home goals to make it a whopping 37-point quarter time margin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Coming back from quarter time where the Metro team was challenged to lift, it was bottom-age inclusion Tom Gross who nailed the first goal of the second term in the opening minute and had his team up and about. Unfortunately for the visitors, it would just not be their day as Tye Gander<\/a> and Jack Callinan<\/a> replied with majors of their own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Though Nate Caddy<\/a> and Elliott hit the scoreboard to win the term, the half-time margin stood at 33 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It was a simply sensational effort from the Allies who dominated the midfield through the work of Ryley Sanders<\/a>, Rogers, Colby McKercher<\/a> and Caiden Cleary<\/a>. Vic Metro had no real answers for the Allies\u2019 on-ball dominance, and though they did cut the deficit, the Allies got back on top in the third term booting four goals to one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n By the final break, the margin was out to 49 points and the game done and dusted. Schoenmaker had booted a second goal, this time from a ridiculous angle and the Allies were on the home stretch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Not willing to concede without a fight, Metro kicked consolation goals to Jordan Croft<\/a> and Nick Watson<\/a> \u2013 the latter of who was moved into the midfield for the final term \u2013 to reduce it down to 36 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It was not going to change the result though as the Allies responded through McKercher and Sanders and skipped away to an impressive win and with only Vic Country to come, look set to win their first ever AFL Under 18 Championships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ALLIES 7.1 | 9.4 | 13.6 | 15.9 (99)<\/strong> GOALS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Allies:<\/strong> J.
