From 195cm makeshift full back Luke Trainor<\/a> down to each pocketman and flanker, all six defenders had at least 22 disposals in Round 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Northern-Tasmania thriller saw Charlie Naish<\/a>‘s Knights snatch victory from Geordie Payne<\/a>‘s Devils, but the pair come together across half-back on either side of Eastern Ranges interceptor Joshua Tovey<\/a>, who was resolute in a win over Geelong Falcons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Accompanying Trainor on the last line are a couple of kick-in takers in Ryan Eyre<\/a> and Lucca Grego<\/a>, who are repeat entrants this week like most of the backmen. Both racked up a good amount of ball and looked to repel from defensive 50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n C:<\/strong> Tobie Travaglia (BP) – Murphy Reid (SD) – Christian Moraes (ER) A monster week for midfielders made the selection squeeze tough, but the starting mix is made up of five bottom-agers. Over-age Northern ruck Flynn Riley<\/a> is the only exception after a day out against Tasmania, winning 49 hitouts to go with 16 disposals and two goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Player of the Week Murphy Reid<\/a> was a lock in the centre of the park, while fellow Vic Metro squad members Jagga Smith<\/a> and Josh Smillie<\/a> effectively picked themselves on the back of dominant displays, having been rested from representative duties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Out on the wings, Smillie’s teammate Christian Moraes<\/a> earns another entry as he continues to go from strength to strength for Eastern. On the opposite side is Bendigo’s Tobie Travaglia<\/a>, who compiled season-high numbers in his side’s win over Murray.<\/p>\n\n\n\n >> Round 12 Player of the Week: Murphy Reid<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n HF:<\/strong> Cooper Hynes (DS) – Luke Lloyd (SD) – Tom Beaumont (TD) The players in this week’s forward line booted five goals, though only Oakleigh’s Billy Hicks<\/a> did so in a win. Tasmania skipper Tom Beaumont<\/a> nearly spurred his side home against Northern, while bottom-ager Cooper Hynes<\/a> went big in Dandenong’s loss to Gippsland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Elsewhere, prolific Sandringham marker Luke Lloyd<\/a> returns for another week, and Mitch Doddos<\/a> makes his maiden appearance after arguably his best game yet. Teammate Oskar Smartt<\/a> rounds out the front six after snaring three goals in his midfield rotation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n INT: <\/strong>Sam Frangalas (DS), Hugo Garcia (CC), Tom Hanily (GP) EMG:<\/strong> Kristian Ferronato (NK), Harvey Langford (DS), Massimo Raso (WJ)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Two players who amassed 35 disposals in the same game – Sam Frangalas<\/a> and Tom Hanily<\/a> – headline an interchange laden with midfielders.
