ALL 10 Coates Talent League regions who participated in Round 13 are represented in our Team of the Week, headlined by a quartet of Dandenong prospects. Despite going down to Sandringham on Saturday night, the Stingrays also boast the Player of the Week in Cooper Hynes<\/strong>. See who made the cut for our 24-player squad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DEFENCE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

HB:<\/strong> Charlie Naish (NK) – Tew Jiath (GP) – Charles Bolmat (CC)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is quite an attacking back line this week, featuring six players who each pieced together a minimum of 24 disposals. Surprisingly, it was the tallest of the lot who led all comers in Western’s Jovan Petric<\/a>, who racked up 29 touches, nine marks and seven rebound 50s in his side’s loss to Northern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the same game, Richmond father-son candidate Charlie Naish<\/a> earned yet another entry for his productivity off half-back, while Ben Hopkins<\/a> and Ethan Williams<\/a> fill out the pockets having proven prolific at opposite ends of the ground as Sandringham downed Dandenong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tew Jiath<\/a> takes up the second key position slot despite measuring up a touch undersized at 187cm, though he was hard to deny after breaking through for 26 disposals and eight marks. Calder’s Charles Bolmat<\/a> rounds out the defence having also played well in a losing effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MIDFIELD<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

C:<\/strong> Archie Sinnott (GF) – Patrick Hughes (GF) – Matthew Nelson (DS)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dandenong, Northern, Calder, and Gippsland all extend their representation down the field with more players named through the centre. Geelong boasts the greatest on-ball influence though, with ball winner Patrick Hughes<\/a> starting in the guts and over-ager Archie Sinnott<\/a> featuring on the wing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opposite to Sinnott is Stingray Matthew Nelson<\/a>, while Hughes is joined by Mahmoud Taha<\/a> and Xavier Lindsay<\/a> at the centre bounces after they both notched up over 30 disposals. Rucking to them is Northern captain Will Green<\/a>, who warmed to his side’s win nicely to beat out some hitout masters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Player of the Week Cooper Hynes<\/a> stars in this week’s forward line, which otherwise is very marking oriented. He booted three goals in Dandenong’s loss on Saturday, though GWV Rebels over-ager Brady Wright<\/a> snared a round-high four in just his second game of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bendigo Pioneers pair Mitch Doddos<\/a> and Hugh Byrne<\/a> join Wright on the full forward line, while Sandringham’s Luke Lloyd<\/a> was hard to overlook despite only bagging a single major. Elsewhere, Kristian Ferronato<\/a> earns a breakthrough start after his impressive 29-disposal and three-goal effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

INTERCHANGE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As has been the case over the last couple of weeks, the interchange bench is flooded by midfielders. The likes of Hugo Garcia<\/a>, Harvey Langford<\/a>, and Nick Newton<\/a> were strong in losing sides, while Charlie Edwards<\/a>, Oliver Hannaford<\/a>, and Tobyn Murray<\/a> all fared well in wins but couldn’t quite crack the starting 18. There was a list of players who can count themselves unlucky to miss out this week, especially in the absence of representative stars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
