NEXT year’s bumper AFL Women’s Draft crop will be on show as part of the annual Under 17 Futures clash at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday. The best available 2006-born talents will strut their stuff in the south east, with a host of stars littered across both Team Harris and Team Schleicher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Named after AFL Women’s players, Tayla Harris<\/a> and Ruby Schleicher<\/a>, the teams will look to put their hand up to be involved in the 2024 AFL Women’s Academy. The teams include 22 player sides with each of the eight states and territories represented. The match will be streamed via the AFLW website and app, from 10:30am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Among those are 2023 AFL Women’s Under 18 Championships MVP Havana Harris<\/a> who will play for her namesake’s side. She will be joined by fellow MVP and top Victorian prospect Ash Centra<\/a>, as well as Carlton father-daughter prospect Sophie McKay<\/a> and Claremont talent Claudia Wright<\/a> who is playing just her second game back from a long-term injury. All-Australian Molly O’Hehir<\/a> is also among the top talents to watch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Team Schleicher features West Australian star Zippy Fish<\/a>, AFLW umpire and talented Territorian Emma Stark<\/a>, and AFLW Under 18 All-Australians, Emma McDonald<\/a>, Sara Howley<\/a> and Jemma Charity<\/a>.
