Minor premier Tasmania earned a week off, while the remaining 12 regions were split into Country and Metro conferences.

Two lower-ranked sides caused boilovers this year, with Eastern eliminating Calder and Oakleigh defeating Northern. Although, the Knights earned a reprieve and progressed to finals as the highest-ranked loser from the Metro pool.

In the knockout Quarter Finals, Tasmania very nearly fell to Gippsland but found a way to win as Geelong upset GWV to keep its season alive. On the Metro side, Eastern snuck past a peaking Oakleigh side while Sandringham made comparatively light work of Northern.

The two conferences will now cross over in the prelims. Top-ranked Country team Tasmania will take on the lowest-ranked Metro team in Eastern, and the inverse fixture sees Sandringham face Geelong in a double-header at Bendigo’s Queen Elizabeth Oval.

SANFL UNDER 18s

FINALISTS:

1st – South Adelaide | 12-6, 56.3%
2nd – Central District | 11-7, 57.0%
3rd – Woodville-West Torrens | 11-7, 56.0%
4th – Sturt | 10-8, 53.2%

STORY SO FAR:

Semi Finals

Woodville-West Torrens 12.5 (77) def. by Sturt 13.9 (87)
South Adelaide 10.12 (72) def.
