We only have a very small leadership this year.”

“We have a few set plays that when they (Power) had the run, we were able to put a foot on the break and today we got it right.”

Gowans spoke about the driving factor within the playing group.

“During pre-season, we spoke about the responsibility of having time,” he said. “Once you have responsibility to perform, it’s a hard way to play footy. We’re able to practice that in the pre-season, got a few wins in the pre season, which flowed on into the regular season. The growth has been big but I think it has been well planned and I think the girls have brought into the program.”

Gowans spoke about the performance of Laura Gardiner and her influence on the sides victory.

“Laura is an outstanding footballer,” he said. “There’s some some areas to fix up in her game defensively, which she’s working really hard on. The great thing I love about Laura is when you sit down and do a review with her, she takes it all in, she goes out to training and tries to practice exactly what you’re telling her. She’s got the potential to be a superstar in the competition.
