North Melbourne made it two from two to start 2024 with a solid win over Carlton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite a pretty even start from both sides, Carlton never really got going as North Melbourne kicked away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nyakoat Dojiok<\/a> kicked three goals in another impressive performance, while Madeleine Di Cosmo<\/a> laid a whopping 18 tackles, while Audrey Rhodes laid 16 of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile Keeley Sherar<\/a> impressed for the Blues, with half of her disposals being clearances, while Sophia McCarthy<\/a> was their only goal kicker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Port Melbourne made a statement in the Grand Final rematch, comfortably defeating Collingwood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Despite the best efforts of the likes of Megan Ryan<\/a> and Marnie Jarvis<\/a>, Collingwood had no answer for Port\u2019s tall forwards, with Federica Frew<\/a>, Emily Harley<\/a> and Madeleine Patterson<\/strong> dominating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Western Bulldogs are on the board for season 2024 after a solid win over Casey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Casey actually led early in the match, before the Bulldogs turned things around in the second half and kicked six goals to two in the second half to take the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jaimi Tabb<\/a> (three goals), Tallia Pulcino<\/a> (two goals) and Isadora McLeay<\/a> (two goals) all kicked multiple goals for the Bulldogs, as did Tegan Williams<\/a> and Siobhan Sheerin<\/a> (two goals each) for Casey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n We have our first draw for 2024 after the Bombers and Seagulls drew at the Hangar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Essendon came out fast, kicking the first four goals of the match, before the Seagulls fought back into the match to pinch the draw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Olivia Manfre<\/a> was lively in attack for Essendon while Marnie Robinson<\/a> was really impressive in defence. Meanwhile for Williamstown Lori Stepnell<\/a> was a workhorse in midfield, while Sharnie Whiting<\/a> helped kick her side back into the match with three majors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Box Hill again made a statement with a big win over Geelong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Again benefitting from some AFLW listed help, Box Hill was too strong for the Cats, with the Cats having no answers for the likes of Emily Bates<\/a> and Eliza West<\/a>, who both finished with over 25 disposals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile for the Cats Brooke Plummer<\/a> saw plenty of the ball and created plenty of clearance work for her side. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Southern Saints have made it two from two with a solid win over the Darebin Falcons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Saints had two goals in the first five minutes, but only scored three more for the rest of the game as Darebin\u2019s defensive pressure increased, and crucially for the Falcons they picked up their first goal of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Chloe Hunt<\/a> was again prolific in front of goal, using all her kicks she recorded to kick her three goals, while Evangeli Nikolitsis<\/a> was prolific through midfield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile for Darebin Georgina Gough<\/strong> was their sole goal kicker and was lively in attack, while Caitlin Bunker<\/a> had a true captain\u2019s game in midfield.<\/p>\n\n\n\nPort Melbourne (9.7.61) defeated Collingwood (3.3.21)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
