In a second consecutive jam packed Saturday in the VFLW, sides like Collingwood finally got on the board while others like the Bulldogs and Geelong copped some big scares but still prevailed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Western Bulldogs got back on the winners list with a narrow win over Essendon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Essendon fought back hard in the last term and almost pinched it off the Dogs, but did not make the most of its chances and the Bulldogs held on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imogen Milford<\/a> and Dominique Carbone<\/a> impressed for the Bulldogs, as did Georgia Nanscawen<\/a> and Ashlea Melnikas<\/a> for the Bombers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Box Hill is now the last undefeated side in the competition after holding off the Seagulls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A late goal in the first term turned the tide for the Hawks, who went on to lead for the rest of the match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Danika Spamer<\/a> continued to be a tackling machine for the Hawks, while Rosie Dillon<\/a> had a strong game around the contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile Sharnie Whiting<\/a> was in fine form in front of goal for the Seagulls, while Ashlee Thorneycroft<\/a> was busy in midfield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Collingwood is on the board this VFLW season after a solid win over Carlton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Pies kept Carlton goalless in the first term to establish an early buffer, and they were able to maintain that buffer for the rest of the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sarah Ingram<\/a> and Maya Ellin<\/a> led the way in midfield for Collingwood, while both Keeley Skepper<\/a> and Eliza Wood<\/a> impressed for Carlton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Casey handed the Borough their first loss of 2024, with the Dees winning by almost four goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It was a slow start from both sides, but the Dees then kicked away in the second term to stamp their authority on the game, and things just progressed from there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Niamh O’Neill<\/a> and Alyssa Bannan<\/a> both kicked two majors each for Casey, as did Kaitlyn O’Keefe<\/a> for the Borough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Giants made another statement in their second match back in the VFLW, with another huge win this time over the Saints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A scoreless first term from the Saints set the tone for the match, as the Giants continued to kick away as the match progressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Zarlie Goldsworthy<\/a> had a stellar game for the Giants, which included booting four majors, while Mikayla Pauga<\/a> was a tackling machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile for the Saints Alexandra Hynes<\/a> almost had the same number of tackles as disposals, while Charlotte Ryan<\/a> had another strong game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Geelong survived a bit of a scare to pick up its second win of the 2024 season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Darebin led at both half time and three quarter time, but the Cats kicked two goas one in the last term to take the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Breanna Pratt<\/a> kicked two goals for Geelong in the win, including the crucial first one of the last term, while Zoe Larkins<\/a> was a tackling machine, landing 10 tackles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile for Darebin Monique DeMatteo<\/a> kicked two majors, while Angelica Gogos<\/a> was a clearance machine, recording 10 clearances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Sydney also made a statement in its second game in their VFLW stint, with a massive win over the Roos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Kangaroos were never really in the match as they were only able to manage a goal per quarter, while the Swans had six in the first term alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Bella Smith<\/a> and Cynthia Hamilton<\/a> kicked three majors each for the Swans, while Nyakoat Dojiok<\/a> was leading scorer for the visitors with two goals to her name.<\/p>\n\n\n\nBox Hill (4.7.31) defeated Williamstown (3.3.21)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
