Port Melbourne\u2019s winning run did not last long, going down the to the Bulldogs in a rare Friday night clash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was pretty tight at quarter time, but the Bulldogs kicked away in the second term and that was the difference as the Borough never really got going.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Analea McKee<\/a> and Ellie Blackburn<\/a> kicked a pair of majors each for the Bulldogs, while for Port Ava Seton<\/a> was a tackle machine and Lily Hart<\/a> was really strong around the clearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Williamstown bounced back from the frustrations of Round 7 with a narrow win over North Melbourne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The lead flipped several times in the first half and it was not until the back end of the third term that the Seagulls managed to gain the upper hand on proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sharnie Whiting<\/a> bagged two majors for the victors, while Nyakoat Dojiok<\/a> kicked three majors for North Melbourne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n It has been a long time coming, but for the first time in over 700 days the Darebin Falcons are on the winners list after defeating Carlton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It was a tussle early, but the Falcons kept building and gaining momentum as the match progressed, ultimately kicking away with the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Monique DeMatteo<\/a> and Ella Southgate<\/a> led the way in attack for the Falcons, while it was Carlton\u2019s younger brigade \u2013 including the likes of Hannah Scott<\/a> and Isla Baldwin<\/a> \u2013 that led from the front for the visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Essendon bounced back from its Round 7 result in a big way, comfortably defeating Casey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The telling quarter was the second term, where the Bombers kicked five goals to one to jump far ahead of the Dees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Emily Tassiopoulos<\/a> and Tia Davidge<\/a> snagged three majors each for the Bombers, while Meg Macdonald<\/a> again led from the front for the Dees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Collingwood has continued its midseason resurgence with a comfortable win over Geelong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Cats just never really got going on the scoreboard as Geelong kicked away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Erica Fowler<\/a> and Sarah Sansonetti<\/a> led the way in attack for the Pies, while for the Cats Lily Jordan<\/a> had a strong clearance game and Abbey McDonald<\/a> saw plenty of the ball. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Yesterday\u2019s sole game was a happy one for the Hawks, who prevailed in Wonthaggi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Saints were building momentum their way in the second term before the Hawks turned things back in their favour and ultimately prevailed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tilly Lucas-Rodd<\/a> led from the front for the Hawks, while Maddison Torpey<\/a> had another strong game for the Saints.<\/p>\n\n\n\nWilliamstown (4.8.32) defeated North Melbourne (4.4.28)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
