THERE was an interesting pattern across the set of results last weekend in the VFLW, with most of last week’s losing sides flipping the script and taking the win this week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Williamstown made it two wins on the trot with a comfortable win over Carlton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Seagulls opened up a one point lead in the first quarter and continued upwards from there as the Blues just could not keep up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Molly Simpson<\/a> lead the way on the scoring front for the Seagulls with three majors, while Eliza Straford<\/a> and Sharnie Whiting<\/a> kicked two majors each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On the other side of the equation Eliza Wood<\/a> was a tackle machine while Hannah Scott<\/a> also impressed for the Blues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n North Melbourne bounced back from the disappointment of last week in a big way, thrashing Essendon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Bombers were kept scoreless for three quarters, and by the time they did manage to get even a behind on the board the Roos were over 50 points ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Zara Flanigan<\/a>, Nyakoat Dojiok<\/a> and Alana Barba<\/a> each kicked two majors for the victorious Roos, while Ruby Mahony<\/a> and Kodi Jacques<\/a> both impressed for the Bombers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Casey bounced back from last week with a solid win over Geelong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Geelong\u2019s bad first half on the scoring front came back to bite them as although they won the second half it ultimately was not enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jo Lin bagged three majors for Casey while Sarah D\u2019Arcy kicked two of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile for Geelong Abbey McDonald<\/a> had a strong clearance game while Poppy Schaap<\/a> was a tackle machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Collingwood came crashing back to earth this week, comprehensively beaten by the Bulldogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The margin was tight at quarter time, but things did not really open up until the final quarter where the Bulldogs really put the throttle down on the contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Courtney Ugle<\/a> saw plenty of the ball for the Bulldogs while Dominique Carbone<\/a> also had a strong game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile for Collingwood Kaitlyn Day<\/a> also had a strong clearance game, while Maya Ellin<\/a> also had a strong game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Darebin has continued its winning momentum, knocking off the ladder leaders on their home deck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Darebin\u2019s defensive pressure across the ground was particularly impressive as they kept the Hawks goalless for two quarters and kicked away as the game progressed to take the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Monique DeMatteo<\/a> was really impressive again in attack for the Falcons, as was Victoria Blackwood<\/a> in defence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On the flipside for the Hawks Bridget Deed<\/a> had a strong game on the clearance front while Danika Spamer<\/a> was a tackle machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Port Melbourne bounced back onto the winners list with a narrow win over the Saints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In a low scoring clash, the Saints ultimately left their fightback too late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Belinda Woolcock<\/a> and Ava Seton<\/a> were Port\u2019s goal kickers, while Dakota Mason<\/a> kicked the sole goal for the Saints and Winnie Laing<\/a> also had a strong game.<\/p>\n\n\n\nNorth Melbourne (10.9.69) defeated Essendon (0.3.3)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
