SEVEN of the eight SANFL Women’s sides had multiple representatives this week in what was a tight round of action. As such, the SANFLW Round 10 Team of the Week was a tricky one to decide, with winners Central District, South Adelaide and North Adelaide all represented well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Glenelg had an even spread across the board after the Bays’ two standouts, with this week’s captain coming as no surprise. Bays’ midfielder Jess Bates<\/a> had another enormous outing, racking up 29 disposals, four marks 10 clearances, two rebound 50s and a ridiculous 23 tackles in the draw with Norwood. Bates’ partner-in-crime Jo Miller<\/a> had equally ridiculous numbers with 26 disposals, three marks, 16 tackles and nine clearances to be on-ball once again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Joining them in the middle was Woodville-West Torrens’ ruck Leah Cutting<\/a> who was this week’s vice-captain. Despite the loss, she was huge against North Adelaide, notching up 36 hitouts to go with 21 disposals, three marks, seven tackles, three clearances and two rebound 50s. Eagles midfielder Marlie Fiegert<\/a> also made the side and was only named on the bench due to the strength of the on-ball trio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The other player on-ball for the Team of the Week was Central District skipper Shelby Smith<\/a> who headlined a league-high five players from the Bulldogs for Round 10. Winger Laitiah Huynh<\/a> also made the starting side, with forward Katelyn Rosenzweig<\/a> adding another three goals to her season tally. Ruck\/forward Charlotte Riggs<\/a> slotted into centre half-forward only due to Cutting’s ridiculous game, while young defender Mikaylah Antony<\/a> made it onto the bench.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On the other wing is Norwood’s Tahlita Buethke<\/a> who stepped up in the draw against Glenelg. She was one of three Redlegs in the side with Emma Clark<\/a>‘s two goals in a low-scoring game, and Shai Hiscock<\/a>‘s impact in the front half of the ground earning both players spots inside 50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n North Adelaide broke through for its first win of the season and totalled up four players in this week’s side. Full-back Kristi Harvey<\/a> and top-age talent Laela Ebert<\/a> were named in defence, while Aprille Crooks<\/a> slotted into half-forward, and consistent ball-winner Jess Edwards<\/a> on the bench.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The other team to rack up four players this week was South Adelaide as the Panthers ticked over another win. South’s backline was key with Tiffany King<\/a> and Esther Schirmer<\/a> both rock solid, while midfielder Caitlin Couch<\/a> added composure behind the ball.
