ROUND 10 of the VFL Women’s season saw two big defining characteristics in its results – big margins and lots of the visiting sides taking the chocolates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

North Melbourne moved into the top six after a tight win over Collingwood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Neither side could manage a goal in the first half, and ultimately it was North Melbourne\u2019s inaccurate kicking that was their savior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tahlia Meier<\/a> and Maggie Mahony<\/a> were the two goal scorers for the match, while Audrey Rhodes<\/a> landed a whopping 18 tackles in the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Essendon bounced back from its Round 9 result in a big way, defeating the reigning premiers by two goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Port Melbourne got the better of the starts to the game, but as the game progressed the Bombers wrestled control and kicked away to the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Olivia Manfre<\/a> was the only multiple goal kicker with three to her name, while Sophie Molan<\/a> saw plenty of the ball for the Bombers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile for the Borough Eloise Ashley-Cooper<\/a> and Lauren Caruso<\/a> were tackle machines, nailing 12 and 10 tackles respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Box Hill bounced back from last week in a big way, comfortably defeating Carlton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Despite the big final margin, it was only 11 points the difference at the main break, but things took a turn in the third term where Box Hill kicked five goals to none to open up the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Grace Matser<\/a> (three goals) and Mietta Kendall<\/a> (two goals) led the way on the goal kicking front for the Hawks, while for the Blues Isla Baldwin<\/a> and Asha Turner Funk<\/a> saw plenty of the ball.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Western Bulldogs maintained their safety barrier in the top three after a 10 point win over the Saints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Saints were the ones to lead early, before the Bulldogs kicked into gear and took the lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Keeley Hardingham<\/a> was impressive in the clearance department for the Bulldogs, while Isadora McLeay<\/a> was a tackle machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile for the Saints Chloe Hunt<\/a> was the only multiple goal kicker of the game with two, while Charlotte Ryan<\/a> had a strong clearance game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Darebin picked up its third win in a row and moved off the bottom of the ladder after a comfortable win over Casey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Falcons jumped out to an early lead, and in perhaps a sign of the side\u2019s development this season they withstood Casey\u2019s fightback in the second term and put the foot down even further in the second half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Monique DeMatteo<\/a> starred in front of goal for the Falcons with three majors to her name, while Angelica Gogos<\/a> and Riley Christgoergl<\/a> also impressing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile for the Dees Niamh O’Neill<\/a> and Ally Kirkwood<\/a> were among their best and really tried to lift their side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n The weekend ended with a massive win to Williamstown, with the Seagulls far too strong for Geelong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Seagulls were already four goals up at quarter time, and the margin just grew from their as the Cats just could not get the shots on goal away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Teagan Brett<\/a> (four goals), Sharnie Whiting<\/a> (two goals) and Molly Simpson<\/a> (two goals) led the way for the Seagulls in attack, while for Geelong Lily Jordan<\/a> and Abbey McDonald<\/a> both saw plenty of the ball. <\/p>\n\n\n\nPort Melbourne (3.9.27) lost to Essendon (6.3.39)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
