After thrashing Peel Thunder three rounds ago, Subiaco looked good to hit fourth spot this year, but heartbreaking losses to South Fremantle and Claremont in successive weeks ended that dream. At the same time, Swan Districts’ win over West Perth not only put a line through Subiaco’s finals hopes, but also denied the Falcons a shot at the double chance. West Perth will now take on the Black Ducks next week in an elimination final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both sides have made a stack of changes with Subiaco recalling Beatrice Devlyn<\/a> among four players with Leila Rowe<\/a>, Dahna Lee<\/a> and Molly Warburton<\/a>. The four to make way for the Lions’ final match of the season are Meg Brown<\/a>, Taya Strickland<\/a>, Chloe Shearing<\/a> and Layla Quinn-Schofield<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
West Perth have also rolled out the changes as Samara Sallie<\/a>, Stacey Francis-Bayman<\/a> and Kenleigh Duve<\/a> are a part of five outs, with Elissa Price<\/a>, Teal Bennett<\/a> and Tia Bergin<\/a> named into the Round 16 team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AFLW DRAFT TALENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Subiaco’s sole State Academy member is Olivia Wolmarans<\/a>, while Eva Popovsky<\/a> is a mature-age name to remember. For the Falcons, without Sallie it leaves fellow bottom-ager and in-form midfielder\/forward Mia Russo<\/a>, and top-age winger Megan Norbury<\/a> as the Falcons’ State Academy members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PREDICTION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is essentially a dead rubber for both sides, with West Perth locked into third spot and hosting an elimination final against Swan Districts, while Subiaco finishes up its 2024 campaign with this clash. It should be a good match, but the Falcons have generally been the stronger side so should win in a tight one.<\/p>\n
