A DRAMATIC weekend of WAFL Colts action saw two games decided by the final kick, with all three fixtures won by two goals or less. Subiaco’s Finley Henderson<\/strong> and Perth’s James Cameron<\/strong> were their sides’ heroes, handing East Fremantle and Peel Thunder crushing defeats at the death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subiaco jumped back into second place with its one-point win over East Fremantle, thanks to Henderson’s fifth behind of the match right on the full time siren. The Lions skipped out to a game-high 17-point lead at half time and held off the wayward Sharks fightback to salute 7.9 (51) to 6.14 (50).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharks Declan Pauline<\/strong> (29 disposals, eight tackles) and Elijah Stockden<\/strong> (27 disposals, one goal) continue to rack up the numbers, while Aven Drewett<\/strong> (24 disposals) and Xavier Hickey<\/strong> (23) were most prolific for the victors. Bottom-age talent Darcy Montgomery<\/strong> also chimed in with three goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lead was no more than one point at each break and changed hands several times in Perth’s one-goal win over Peel. The home side levelled the scores with 90 seconds to play in Mandurah, before Cameron slotted a major after the final siren to take full advantage of a 50m penalty which put him within range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peel had nine individual goalkickers, including Tye Kemp<\/strong> who amassed 17 disposals and 24 hitouts. Jadd Hill <\/strong>led all comers with 21 touches on the winning side, while Robert Warrell<\/strong> (three goals) and Josh Denney<\/strong> (two) joined the game-winner Cameron in snaring multiple majors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swan Districts skipped away to an 11-point win over South Fremantle thanks to its five goals to two after half time. The Swans were behind by a single point at the main break before edging ahead, as Chayse Martinson<\/strong> helped seal the result with two crucial goals in the final quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Martinson (21 disposals) and Otis Harvey<\/strong> (three goals) came up clutch for the Swans, while big man Evan Smith<\/strong> posted 40 hitouts. The likes of Orlando Keleman<\/strong> (24 disposals, seven tackles), Toby Whan <\/strong>(24 disposals) and Millar Rank<\/strong> (18 disposals, 12 tackles) were among the Bulldogs’ best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite a bye round, Claremont remains clear in top spot on the WAFL Colts ladder. Subiaco restored its status as the best of the rest, jumping West Perth into second, while East Fremantle and Swan Districts round out the top five with four wins apiece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perth (3-4-1) moved closer to a berth in the finals places after its Round 11 victory, as Peel Thunder and South Fremantle remain equal on two wins in eighth and ninth. Another three games are on the menu for Round 12, with all three fixtures taking place on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the state Under 18 side enjoyed a terrific road win over South Australia<\/a> on Sunday. They will host Vic Metro at Optus Stadium on Sunday, with WA’s Under 16 squad travelling to take on the Croweaters in Adelaide on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
