IT was an action packed final weekend of the VFLW home and away season, as the final chapter on many unanswered questions were written. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collingwood blew its last chance to book a spot in the 2024 finals after losing to Williamstown. In a low scoring affair out at Victoria Park, Collingwood could not score even a behind in the first half, so even though they outscored the Seagulls in the second half it was not enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Emily Eaves<\/a> had a strong day in the clearance department for the Seagulls, while Ashlee Thorneycroft<\/a> laid a whopping 16 tackles. Meanwhile for Collingwood, Jordan Ivey<\/a> was their sole goal kicker and Kaitlyn Day<\/a> had a magnificent day in the clearance department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Western Bulldogs booked their double chance in the finals after a tight win over the Kangaroos. Momentum shifted several times in the match, but ultimately the Bulldogs took control late to take the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Imogen Milford<\/a> lead the way for the Bulldogs with three goals, while Keeley Hardingham<\/a> kicked two majors. North Melbourne’s Emily Paterno<\/a> and Nyakoat Dojiok<\/a> kicked three majors each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Essendon booked its spot in the finals with a big win over Geelong. A six goals to none first half set the win up for the Bombers, who kept the foot on the pedal in the second half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jayda Richardson<\/a> starred up front for the Bombers with three majors, and was ably assisted by Olivia Manfre<\/a> and Ruby Mahony<\/a>, who kicked two goals each. Meanwhile for Geelong, Abby Favell<\/a> and Lily Jordan<\/a> were again among the main ball winners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Southern Saints ended their season on a high and ruined Casey\u2019s chances to make finals with a big win over the Dees. It was tight early in the match, but as the match wore on the Saints started to put their foot down and really grow out their lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Chloe Hunt<\/a> shone up top for the Saints with four majors, while Sophie Phillips<\/a> kicked two majors. Joanna Lin<\/a> also kicked three majors for the Dees, while Niamh O’Neill<\/a> had a really strong game in the clearance department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Port Melbourne booked its spot in the finals after drawing its final match of the season with Box Hill. The margin never rose above more than a couple of points all match, and Port certainly had their chances to take the win in the last quarter but could not convert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ava Seton<\/a> had another strong game through midfield, while Courteney Bromage<\/a> laid a whopping 13 tackles. Tamara Luke<\/a> was not only the only multiple goalkicker in the game, but she also won the clearance count for her side. Danika Spamer<\/a> also saw plenty of the ball.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Darebin ended its much improved season on a high with a win over Carlton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Momentum shifted several times during the match, but ultimately a late goal and strong defensive pressure got the Falcons over the line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Monique DeMatteo<\/a> impressed inside 50 for the Falcons with three majors, while many of their leaders including Caitlin Bunker<\/a> and Nicole Callinan<\/a> continued to shine. Carlton’s Isla Baldwin<\/a> and Isabelle Khoury<\/a> never stopped trying to get their side over the line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\nNorth Melbourne 6.7 (43) lost to Western Bulldogs 7.8 (50)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
