HAWTHORN father-son prospect Ned Maginness<\/a> claimed a full three votes for his role in Sandringham Dragons’ four-point win over Eastern Ranges on Sunday. The over-ager showcased clean fundamentals en route to a team-high 25 disposals, six marks and five tackles in midfield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maginness is the son of 131-gamer Scott<\/em><\/strong>, and brother of current Hawk Finn<\/strong>. Despite been overlooked in last year’s draft, he remains tied to Hawthorn and has grown a lot of late – quite literally – to stand at 194cm. Such size has seen him thrive on the inside this season, having cut his teeth on the wing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He turned out in the Young Guns series and remains a chance of joining his elder sibling at the top level having averaged 17 disposals, five marks, and four tackles per his six Coates Talent League outings. Maginness nabbed best afield honours this week ahead of combative fellow Dragon Samuel Linder<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pair was among six of a possible nine vote-getters to get off the mark in the Rookie Me Central Medal count in Round 13. Eastern Ranges defender Riley White<\/a> also did so in the same game, proving a rock down back with 17 disposals, five marks, and five rebound 50s for the losing side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elsewhere, Player of the Week Zane Cochrane<\/a> bagged his second best on ground nod in as many tries. The Oakleigh Chargers midfielder posted a round-high 34 disposals and nine marks in his side’s one-point win. Bottom-ager Sam Grlj<\/a> also polled two votes for his 26 touches and one goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Northern onballer Kristian Lawson<\/a> secured a full three votes as the Knights went down by 15 points to Calder. His 30 disposals were enough to put him above Cannons Cooper Duff-Tytler<\/a> and Patrick Said<\/a> in the 3-2-1 system, making for his first appearance on the leaderboard this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The top 10 leaderboard remains unchanged after Round 13, with none of the featured players turning out due to representative commitments, byes, or having already been drafted. Dandenong’s Cooper Hynes<\/a> tops the charts with 14 votes ahead of Josh Smillie<\/a> and Jagga Smith<\/a> – both tied on 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
