BRISBANE bounced back from a AFLW Round 1 loss in an impressive way, downing Melbourne by 18 points at Casey Fields yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lions coach Craig Starcevich<\/em><\/strong> was pleased with how his team performed and continued the good run of form the side has had against the Dees at Casey Fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He said that the result was \u201creally good” because of the recent success against the Dees, which he believed put the head-to-head record at Casey Fields in the visitor’s favour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “After last week, after our third quarter last week, we’ve slowly started to turn things back a little bit to the way that we normally do things,” Starcevich said. “Still a bit clunky and a bit fumbly and a few things that we would like to do better and clean things up, but effort and sticking to what we spoke about pregame was excellent.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Although the scoreboard pressure from the Lions was not consistent across the four quarters, consistency in other areas was, and Starcevich agreed that was important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cClearly today it was from going from start to finish,” he said. “We were probably even in the practice games. We’ve had a lull at some point in the game with a quarter or two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe haven’t been quite on and last week we really got torched for it, but today was good from start to finish, restricted the opposition and took our chances when we went forward.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
