Sierra Grieves<\/a> One of the most accomplished players in terms of accolades this year, Western Jets onballer Sierra Grieves<\/strong> had a season to remember. Not only winning the Jets best and fairest and dominating the league with ridiculous stat-stuffing performances, but Grieves stepped up to Vic Metro level and won the MVP there – as well as the overall MVP for the national championships – in an ultra-impressive carnival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Likewise, Zoe Hargreaves<\/strong> also showed her potential during the national championships, teaming up with Grieves through the midfield against Vic Country at Marvel Stadium in what was her most impressive game of that carnival. She has also spent time forward and down back, though she is naturally a tall, powerful inside midfielder, not too dissimilar to her new teammate, Ellie McKenzie<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Selecting ex-Bomber Paige Scott <\/strong>was well known coming into the night, with the Tigers and Essendon unable to secure a deal for the former GWV Rebels forward. That turned out not to both Richmond, with the new Tiger selected at Pick 31, the yellow and black’s last pick they took in the AFLW Draft. However Richmond did leave the door ajar by passing with its last selection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In terms of 2025, all three could step straight into the best 21 fitness providing, with Scott having long been a feature for the Bombers and already so experienced at AFLW level. Grieves is as readymade as any player and one of – if not the – safest picks in the AFLW Draft. She has a long-term future at the level and will work as hard as anyone to make it.
