TASMANIAN talent Harriet Bingley<\/a> is a powerful utility who thrives through the midfield, but is equally as capable on any of the three lines. Standing at 174cm, Bingley is a bigger midfielder who uses her strength to win the ball, and then is able to distribute cleanly by hand or foot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also a member of the Allies program last year where the Devils utility cracked in for a game as a bottom-ager, Bingley is searching to take her game to another level in 2025. We spoke to her at the recent Tasmania Devils Preseason Testing Event about her game, goals and inspirations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: Harriet, tell us a little bit about your football journey?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

HB: <\/strong>“I started at about four playing Auskick and I’ve just been around it my whole life and continued through to this level now.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: How has it been coming through the Tasmania Devils program what’s it been like?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

HB: <\/strong>“Really good. It’s grown heaps in the last four years that I’ve been part of it and it’s just great to see.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: You’ve been a member of the Allies squad as well, what’s that been like?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

HB: <\/strong>“I really enjoyed Allies. Having only played one game but it was a really good experience, good competition as well.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: What role do you expect to play this year, midfield?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

HB: <\/strong>“Hopefully more midfield time with a balance of everywhere else.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: What do you see as some of the strengths in your game?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

HB: <\/strong>“I think my strength is obviously a strength, and my skills are pretty good but I’m still working on them.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: What about your improvements?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

HB: <\/strong>“Over the preseason it’s been endurance and speed and also skills here and there.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: Which AFL\/W club do you support?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

HB: <\/strong>“Collingwood.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: Is there a story behind that?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

HB: <\/strong>“My uncle actually brainwashed me when I was about four, so that’s the reason behind that.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: Who’s had the most individual influence on your career?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

HB: <\/strong>“Probably my uncle and my mum.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: Which player do you look up to at the top level?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

HB: <\/strong>“I used to love Dane Swan, but I’m a fan of pretty much all the Collingwood players.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: What do you set for your own personal goals?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

HB: <\/strong>“I really want to get drafted, that’s the end goal.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: What are you most looking forward to this season for the Devils?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

HB: <\/strong>“Just it feels like a whole new team almost, so new experiences and potentially a different gameplan, so anything that could evolve with that.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
