East Fremantle has started the season a little shaky at 1-2, though that must take into account it only got rolled late by both South Fremantle and Claremont and could easily be 3-0. It has not been as convincing in past years and now the Sharks face an unbeaten Subiaco side that sits on top of the ladder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both sides have made three changes with key forwards Alicia Blizard<\/a> and Olivia Wolmarans<\/a> missing for East Fremantle and Subiaco respectively due to their National Academy match on Sunday. The Lions regain West Coast star Dana Hooker<\/a> and experienced forward Aimee Schmidt<\/a>, as well as Taylisha Brown<\/a> for the match. The Sharks bring back tall Tiani Teakle<\/a> as well as Ava Anderson<\/a> and Eve Wilson-Sieber<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AFLW DRAFT TALENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
WIthout the two top ranked players that would have been in this game, the focus turns to Layla Quinn-Schofield<\/a> and Maya Louvel-Finn<\/a> who could face off against one another. Quinn-Schofield is coming off a three-goal game last week against Swan Districts, while Louvel-Finn has been amongst the best every week thus far. Sunni-Quay Peters<\/a> will also be a name to watch lining up in defence for the Lions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PREDICTION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Even without dominant goalkicker Wolmarans, the Lions look incredibly strong, and bringing in a player of Hooker’s quality – alongside Schmidt – is just incredible. If Subiaco wins the midfield it is hard to see the Lions losing, though the Sharks also have quality players across the field.<\/p>\n

A huge contest with everything on the line as two unbeaten sides go at it in Claremont and South Fremantle. The Tigers had a bye in Round 1 but have since ticked off wins against the other top three sides last season and now run into a red-hot South Fremantle. The Bulldogs have got out of jail a couple of times now, but all that matters is the “three” in the win column and “zero” in the loss column.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A trio of changes for both sides is on the menu with Claremont losing tall utility Mackenzie Webb<\/a>, but regaining some important experience through the middle of the ground. Kate Orme<\/a> returns from coaching the State Under 16s side, as well as Taylah Orzel<\/a> and Matilda Sergeant<\/a>., The Bulldogs will be minus Renee Morgan<\/a> (All-Stars match in Melbourne), forward Zoe Huggett<\/a> and wing Holly Ifould<\/a> for the contest, but regain Liusaidh Gilchrist<\/a>, as well as Megan Bain<\/a>, Ebony Grant<\/a> and Ella Ward<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AFLW DRAFT TALENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
South Fremantle defender Marie Polimeno<\/a> has been in some nice form of late and could get the job on fellow State Academy member Ella Gilbey<\/a> in the clash. Smooth-moving midfielder-defender Juliet Kelly<\/a> has been named at half-back for the clash with a stacked on-ball group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PREDICTION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Based on the inclusions it is hard to go past Claremont for the match, with some serious firepower in all thirds of the ground. While Webb will be a loss, it is not as detrimental as those out for the Bulldogs, so Claremont at home is the tip for this one.<\/p>\n
