SUBIACO’s impressive win over East Fremantle earned the Lions a league-high five players in the WAFL Women’s Team of the Week for Round 4. Subiaco lead all-comers with fellow winners Claremont and Swan Districts each having three – as did East Fremantle – while the remaining five sides all had two representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Swan Districts top-age midfielder Carys D’Addario<\/a> deserving the honour after a 30-disposal performance in the Swans’ win over Peel Thunder. She holds up the midfield alongside Subiaco pair Krstel Petrevski<\/a> and Lisa Steane<\/a>, while Lions ruck Tess Lyons<\/a> earned the number one ruck role for the Round 4 side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The wings hail from both Perth teams in action with Jess Verbrugge<\/a> (East Perth) and Isabella Shannon<\/a> (Perth) edged out to the wings with the strength of the on-ball group over the weekend. Alongside the three Subiaco centre square players, the Lions also had Maggie MacLachlan<\/a> – pushed to half-back – and returning West Coast star Dana Hooker<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n D’Addario shared the representative honours from the Swans with fellow midfield partner Jaime Henry<\/a>, while Kayley King<\/a> kicked two majors in the victory and Isabella Edgley<\/a> was huge in the back 50 with 31 touches. Swan Districts’ opponents Peel Thunder had two players in the side this week in Holly Bilcich<\/a> and Chloe Wrigley<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Reigning premiers Claremont boast four players in the team, with Juliet Kelly<\/a> named off half-back after doing well behind the ball, while midfielders Sarah Viney<\/a> (two goals), Jacinta Valentini<\/a> and Sasha Goranova<\/a> were all fantastic against South Fremantle. Bulldogs forward Poppy Stockwell<\/a> booted three goals and was named vice-captain, while Alyssa Smogavec<\/a> was the other South player in the side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the tight tussle between Perth and East Perth, Fina Dethlefsen<\/a>‘s three goals for the Demons earned her a spot up forward, while for the Royals Brianna Cleggett<\/a> joined Verbrugge. East Fremantle went down but still had the most of any losing side with three players, headlined by Maya Louvel-Finn<\/a> who made it for a fourth straight week.
