Toby Callow<\/a> and Avery Thomas<\/a> punched above their weight in the Devils’ win over the Swans Academy, combining for 20 marks as the latter quelled star prospect Max King<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dean was resolute as his Murray Bushrangers went down to Ethan Matthews<\/a>‘ Giants Academy. The former, a Carlton father-son candidate, reeled in eight marks among his 19 disposals. Meanwhile, the latter led all comers with 24 touches and five rebound 50s as he continues to impress as a bottom-ager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A couple more Academy-tied rebounders round out the back six. Gold Coast over-ager Nelson Beikoff-Smart<\/a> was in constant motion en route 25 disposals, six inside 50s and seven rebound 50s. Similar could be said for industrious Swan Harry Kyle<\/a>, who gathered 22 touches and warranted a run in midfield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n FOL:<\/strong> Charlie Hewitt (BL) – Nicholas Andreacchio (SS) – Jai Murray (GC) There were some outstanding performances in midfield, perhaps none more impressive than that of Jai Murray<\/a>. The rising Sun oozed class with his 29 disposals, eight tackles and nine clearances, balancing his inside and outside craft. He took his chance with four National Academy members absent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Over-age Swan Nicholas Andreacchio<\/a> was another to run riot through the middle of the ground, racking up 32 disposals and seven marks in defeat. Tasmania’s Nathaniel Sulzberger<\/a> (28 disposals, eight marks) joins him at the centre bounces in our squad after showing a more expansive side to his game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Brisbane Lions tall Charlie Hewitt<\/a> makes it three over-agers in the four-man on-ball mix after posting 21 disposals, 13 hitouts and two goals against Geelong. Falcons speedster Noah Williams<\/a> brings down the average age alongside fellow bottom-ager and wingman Guy Jenkin<\/a> of the Swans Academy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n HF:<\/strong> Rilley Aquilina (GF) – Ben Taylor (CC) – Ben Kennedy (MB) Several tall goalkickers headline the selection of forwards this week, which perhaps accounts for the lack of height down back. Player of the Week Max Hudson<\/a> led the way with five majors in Gold Coast’s resounding win, also clunking nine marks to spearhead a resounding win over Dandenong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n GWS tall Tallis McMillan<\/a> booted four goals to earn a spot, while Murray utility Ben Kennedy<\/a> bagged three in the same game to prove his versatility. Calder Cannons bottom-ager Ben Taylor<\/a> was another key forward to post a hat-trick of goals, doing so in his Coates Talent League debut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Another 2008-born talent to impress was Marcus Prasad<\/a>, who was arguably Dandenong’s best in a heavy loss. Vic Country trialist Rilley Aquilina<\/a> also caught the eye with his speed and defensive pressure, notching up 20 disposals and eight tackles in Geelong’s loss to the Lions Academy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n INT:<\/strong> Koby Coulson (GC), Benjamin Lillico (BL), Fred Lucas (GF), Caylen Murray (BL), Adrian Scott (NT), Oliver Withers (GWS)<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Lions Academy is further represented by two players on the bench, with midfielder Benjamin Lillico<\/a> and dashing bottom-age defender Caylen Murray<\/a> securing their spots in the squad. From the same game, Falcons defender Fred Lucas<\/a> also racked up the numbers with 25 disposals and nine marks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It was difficult to overlook solid midfield operators like Gold Coast’s Koby Coulson<\/a> and the Giants’ Oliver Withers<\/a>, who both thrived around the contest and looked to drive their respective sides forward.
