A TOP against bottom clash, top four battle and some mid-table contests are what is on offer across Round 12 of the AFL Sydney Women’s Premier Division. We take a look at each of the matches and what could be in store for the sides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
UTS BATS vs. NORTH SHORE BOMBERS The clash looms as a sneaky good one, with the improving UTS Bats too good for UNSW-ES Bulldogs last week, but taking on the Bombers is a whole extra level. North Shore is blitzing sides at the moment and boasts a ridiculous 757.86 per cent, which will see them take top spot if they can keep on the same wins as the Wolves later in the year. Though the Bombers should win this one fairly well, the Bats do have potential as they like to move the ball too, and have targets up forward who can do damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A potential matchup between Charlotte Tidemann<\/a> and Sophia Gaukrodger<\/a> who are both in great form could be an battle within the overall match, while the likes of Heidi de Saxe<\/a> and Amelia Rainbow<\/a> are performing consistently well for the Bombers. Madeleine Quinn<\/a> can play ruck or forward for the Bats and is always tough to match up on, while Aoife Berry<\/a> is another talented prospect out of the Giants Academy for UTS. North Shore by 22 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n MANLY WARRINGAH WOLVES vs. PENNANT HILLS DEMONS Top of the table Manly Warringah Wolves take on last placed Pennant Hills Demons and they are at very different development phases in 2025. Sheridan Baker <\/strong>has been a shining light for the struggling Demons in defence, repelling what she can, but the young side even got blown away by the previously winless Parramatta Goannas last round. Manly might opt to rest players or throw the magnets around, but they beat them 141-0 last time out, and three weeks ago smashed the Goannas 123-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Forward Isabella Rudolph<\/a> has the potential to put up a ridiculous number of goals, while the midfield of Hannah Woolfe<\/strong> and Kenya Fahey<\/strong> will take control and it is likely the Demons will just have no answers for them. Hopefully Pennant Hills can bring the heat for the game, though if conditions are far, it could be a triple-digit demolition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ST GEORGE DRAGONS vs. UNSW-ES BULLDOGS It is now or never for the UNSW-ES Bulldogs who after losing to UTS Bats last week, are on the precipice of being eliminated from the finals race. That loss meant they fell eight points adrift of the fifth placed Bats, and simply must win this game and win it well to build confidence for the run home. St George is in that stage where the Dragons are better than the bottom two sides, but not quite up to matching it with the rest just yet in their second season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Shelby Koh <\/strong>will be a key player behind the ball for the Bulldogs in the game, with the likes of Amaia Wain<\/a> and Sera Kaukiono<\/a> providing headaches through the middle for the Dragons. St George will want to bounce back from its disappointing 138-point shellacking to North Shore, with youngsters Montana Doubell<\/a> and Annabelle McHale<\/a> both battling hard in that one, with Allies’ key forward Grace Parsons<\/a> another potential inclusion. UNSW by 27 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n SYDNEY UNIVERSITY vs. EAST COAST EAGLES The contest looms as the match of the round with a double chance on the line for the Students who have now dropped two on the bounce since going 8-0 to start the season. The three-time premiers East Coast Eagles are two games behind but also have a postponed match to catch up. If the Eagles can find form in the second half of the season then watch out, while Sydney University needs to find its work from prior to the past fortnight to ensure it does not slip too far down the ladder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Eagles are coming off a 70-0 win over St George, with bottom-ager Darcie Prosser-Shaw<\/a> a name to remember for next year’s draft. Grace Tracey<\/a> and Aysha Sanchez<\/a> have also been players coming through the NSW Academies, while Sydney University has Frances Walsh<\/a> and Evie Bowie<\/a> as bottom-age Swans Academy members, supporting star midfielder Amanda Farrugia<\/a>.
