South Australia then came from behind to run over the top of an inaccurate WA in game two, before turning it around later against Vic Metro in incredibly blustery conditions. The Sandgropers evened the ledger funnily enough despite being outplayed for forward half ascendancy, but were far more effective going inside 50 against the Allies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-worked\">WHAT WORKED<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The midfield group for the most part stepped up with <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"126090\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/carys-daddario\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carys D&#8217;Addario<\/a>, <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"130735\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/renee-morgan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Renee Morgan<\/a>, <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"130698\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/mia-russo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mia Russo<\/a> and <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"123852\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/juliet-kelly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Juliet Kelly<\/a> providing a rock solid on-ball core, while bottom-aged ruck <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"156262\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/cara-dziegielewski\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cara Dziegielewski<\/a> really held her own for the most part. The half-back line which was lead by <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"126252\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/olivia-crane\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Olivia Crane<\/a> and <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"126839\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/maya-louvel-finn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maya Louvel-Finn<\/a> was reliable, while up forward <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"112043\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/olivia-wolmarans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Olivia Wolmarans<\/a> and <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"130714\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/alicia-blizard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alicia Blizard<\/a> had their ups and downs but remained a threat inside 50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-most-valuable-player\">MOST VALUABLE PLAYER<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"126090\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/carys-daddario\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carys D&#8217;Addario<\/a><strong> (Swan Districts)<\/strong><br><strong>Midfielder | 168cm | 01\/03\/2007<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Averages: <\/strong>21.8 disposals, 1.3 marks, 5.5 tackles, 6.3 clearances, 2.5 inside 50s<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A deserving MVP, D&#8217;Addario was clearly the most consistent player across the four games as a crucial inside midfielder. Her stoppage craft, strength and clean hands stand out, as does her reliable and powerful kick going forward. She starred at the coalface, but got involved in transition on the outside as well. Otherwise she kicked 0.4 in the remaining matches, but had her chances, and even when not hitting the scoreboard, looked a threat inside 50 for the Sandgropers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-rising-prospect\">RISING PROSPECT<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"126839\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/maya-louvel-finn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maya Louvel-Finn<\/a> <strong>(East Fremantle)<\/strong><br><strong>Defender | 169cm | 20\/03\/2007<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Averages: <\/strong>12.3 disposals, 2.0 marks, 5.0 tackles, 3.8 rebound 50s<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plenty to choose from in this category, but the performance of Louvel-Finn in the last game against <strong>Majella Day<\/strong> was crucial in helping Western Australia get across the line. She reads the play well, is strong both in the air and at ground level and has a penetrating and efficient kick. Headlined by the six National Academy members in Wolmarans, Russo, <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"126055\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/evie-cowcher\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Evie Cowcher<\/a>, Crane, <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"137172\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/alira-fotu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alira Fotu<\/a> and Blizard as well as D&#8217;Addario and <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"86977\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/lucy-greenwood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lucy Greenwood<\/a> just for a start. Then there&#8217;s Morgan and Louvel-Finn who have both staked their cases, with Kelly, <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"150217\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/ella-gilbey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ella Gilbey<\/a> and <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"160838\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/layla-quinn-schofield\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Layla Quinn-Schofield<\/a> the next group after that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-future\">THE FUTURE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dziegielewski and fellow West Perth prospect <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"156263\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/lexi-strachan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lexi Strachan<\/a> are the two names to really remember for next year from the Sandgropers. Though the crop is not as strong at the top-end as in 2025, there still is talent there with Perth&#8217;s <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"130733\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/mia-carlshausen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mia Carlshausen<\/a> and <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"156233\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/mel-grage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mel Grage<\/a>, East Perth&#8217;s <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"156235\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/charli-bassett\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Charli Bassett<\/a>, Peel Thunder&#8217;s <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"156257\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/heidi-ireland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Heidi
