A LAST ditch performance from Geelong has seen the Cats cause an upset at home over the charging Darebin, defeating the Falcons by two points in the last round of the VFL Women’s regular season. Geelong’s 3.10 (28) to 3.8 (26) triumph was enough to see the Cats avoid the wooden spoon and instead hand it over to Casey Demons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The final round of the season prior to finals saw the top two and top six remain the same with North Melbourne Werribee’s qualifying final confirmed as Collingwood after a high-scoring 13-point win over Sandringham Zebras. With the Seagulls losing, it meant Box Hill and Sandringham remained in third and fourth, while Essendon snatched sixth spot with an incredible two-point win themselves on Friday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
