FOR THE first time in history, siblings have won back-to-back Player of the Week nominations with Scarlett Bown<\/a> following in the footsteps of older sister Chloe Bown<\/a> to earn the nod. Bown took full advantage of Oakleigh Chargers being minus star forward Bailee Martin<\/a> as she slammed home seven goals from 12 touches and seven marks in a 32-point win over Sandringham Dragons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a relatively evenly spread round across the competition in terms of nominations, the younger Bown was the clear outlier with her seven majors. She kicked the first goal of the game then stepped up with the game on the line in the second half, piling on half a dozen snags in the come-from-behind victory. Her previous best effort was three on debut, and had booted 11 for the year coming into the game prior to her breakout performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unsurprisingly sister Chloe was again phenomenal, putting up 25 touches, three marks, 11 tackles, 10 clearances, five inside 50s and booting 1.3, while working in tandem with Zoe Curry<\/a> (28 disposals, six clearances, six inside 50s and two rebound 50s) around the ball. Sandringham double bottom-ager Maya Duane<\/a> booted two goals from 10 touches, eight marks, five clearances and nine inside 50s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other big goalkicking tallies came in the Eastern Ranges’ win over Calder Cannons. Both Zoe Vozzo<\/a> (11 disposals, four marks and 5.3) and Briannan Lambe<\/a> (10 disposals, four marks and 5.1) put the Cannons to the sword.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile over-agers Greater Western Victoria (GWV) Rebels’ Isabella Davies<\/a> (33 disposals, three marks, seven tackles, four inside 50s and four rebound 50s) and Murray Bushrangers’ Ellie Hall<\/a> (37 disposals, four marks, six tackles, six clearances and eight inside 50s) had big numbers in their respective games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In those respective matches, Western Jets’ Tayla Olivieri<\/a> (23 disposals, 16 tackles, 10 clearances and three inside 50s) and Northern Knights’ Scarlett Johnson<\/a> (27 disposals, seven marks, seven tackles, three clearances, six inside 50s and four rebound 50s) were also impressive candidates for best on ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tasmanian pair Mia Anderson<\/a> (29 disposals, six marks, seven tackles, 10 inside 50s and a goal) and Priya Bowering<\/a> (27 disposals, six marks, four tackles, four clearances, nine inside 50s, three rebound 50s and a goal) were both superb against Gippsland in the 79-point win. Lastly, Meg Lappin<\/a> (Geelong Falcons) and Issy Boulton<\/a> (Bendigo Pioneers) were named best-on for their respective sides in the Falcons’ 37-point victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
