The left-footer was entitled to most of the shots she took, and there were a few that were not far off including a poster. Her sidestep in traffic is a trait that stands out, and she is a promising talent for the future as an Under 16s All-Australian.

#9 Lily Milner
Forward/Midfielder | 172cm | 25/01/2008

Stats: 19 disposals, 8 tackles, 8 clearances, 5 inside 50s, 2 rebound 50s

Best on ground in the win, Milner provided a nice balance of offensive and defensive traits, applying enormous defensive pressure at the coalface and when rotated forward. Her stoppage work lifted in the match, as did her defensive running capacity that allowed her to win a couple of huge holding the ball free kicks. Has a great technical base and can play across all three lines.

#10 Grace Dillow
Midfielder | 167cm | 03/06/2008

Stats: 20 disposals, 1 mark, 3 tackles, 5 clearances, 4 inside 50s, 2 rebound 50s

Worked well in tandem with Milner when around the ball and showed some slick hands under pressure. A few times she just threw the ball on the boot to clear the danger, but with time and space is effective by foot and can have damaging hurt factor. She saved an early goal by using her body well one-on-one in the defensive goalsquare, and cleared the danger on a couple of occasions. Though not her natural position after the main break, Stoddart worked into space well and linked up effective with teammates. She made it two thanks to a strong mark off good positioning 25m out, converting the subsequent set shot. Really should have had one more in the third term that pushed wide from a relatively straightforward set shot, with her checkside first term snap the other behind. Is a nice field kick up the ground as well.

#33 Maya Crestani
Ruck | 184cm | 02/08/2007

Stats: 8 disposals, 1 mark, 4 tackles, 19 hitouts, 2 clearances, 2 inside 50s, 1 rebound 50

The athletic ruck showed some great defensive nous to save a goal on the goalline early, and work back to drop into the hole when required. In the ruck, Crestani was able to get first hands to it more often than not and execute some set plays, with her follow-up work and clean hands below her knees effective for a tall in the match.

#36 Chelsea Sutton
Midfielder/Forward | 169cm | 16/11/2007

Stats: 15 disposals, 3 marks, 7 tackles, 4 clearances, 8 inside 50s, 1 rebound 50

Cracked in hard around the ball and provided consistent effort as always. Sutton’s two-way running ability and defensive pressure stands out, and she was able to find the ball all over the field. She got back to help the defence, and also went forward to to influence potential scores, nailing a brilliant pass to Sharp on the lead for a goal assist. The Dragons’ best across four quarters.

#28 Amy Smith
Wing/Defender | 172cm | 07/11/2007

Stats: 15 disposals, 6 marks, 4 tackles, 1 clearance, 2 rebound 50s, 1 goal, 1 behind

Smith’s first half was absolutely enormous, racking up 12 disposals and stretching the field well across the board. The wing worked into defence to mop up, but also knew when to drift forward, finding space to kick a set shot goal late in quarter two. She was doing great work up the other end as well, getting a touch in to stop a potential opposition major, and looked on track for a massive game. Her second half was subdued, with the ball mostly on the other side of the ground, or with Gippsland firmly in control.

#29 Isla Tucker
Defender | 168cm | 11/07/2008

Stats: 18 disposals, 3 marks, 2 tackles, 1 clearance, 6 rebound 50s

The bottom-age defender just did her thing and was able to be effective coming out of the back 50. A lot of her touches involved either the kickout or next disposal, looking to clear the danger.

#44 Sienna Sharp
Tall Forward | 177cm | 30/09/2007

Stats: 14 disposals, 8 marks, 5 tackles, 2 hitouts, 1 clearance, 1 inside 50, 1 goal

Loomed as a dangerous target inside 50, but had to work further afield as the game went on with the Power having ascendancy. She was strong overhead, picked her leading lanes well, and was able to convert a set shot goal in the third term. A career-high 34 touches at the level saw the inside midfielder dominate around the ball, then rest forward and still get plenty of disposals there.
