THE INDICATIVE order for this year’s AFL Draft has been locked in, although looks set to take a much different final form after the intake is over with. A combination of more bids than has ever been seen and integral trades at the front-end will turn the order on its head, but some clubs are entrenched at the top.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gold Coast is set to be a prime benefactor of its academy group, boasting two clear top-five chances. Meanwhile, Carlton may be forced to match a bid for its father-son gun as early as pick three, leading to the Blues tabling picks nine and 11 for likely night one trades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the clubs in for those Carlton picks is Essendon, who already has a pair of top-10 selections. The Bombers also have Next Generation Academy talent to consider later in the order, while West Coast and Richmond wield the opening four picks between them as key draft-shapers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
