NIGHTCLIFF’S quest for a finals double chance roared on in Round 17, as a bunch of Tigers dined out in their 147-point win over Wanderers. Former Hawthorn and Western Bulldogs forward Fergus Greene<\/a> was a standout, booting five goals from 21 disposals and a competition-high 12 marks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shay Linke<\/a> also inflicted scoreboard damage with six majors, bested only by Southern Districts’ Beau Schwarze<\/strong>, who booted seven of his side’s nine goals against Palmerston. Meanwhile, Cody Leggett<\/strong> stood tall in defeat for the Muk Muks, leading the league for disposals (39), kicks (31), and rebound 50s (nine).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

St Mary’s midfield pair Dylan Landt<\/a> and Connor West<\/a> also ran riot over the weekend as the Saints beat Waratah by 35 points. Landt matched Leggett’s haul of 39 touches while registering a round-high nine inside 50s. Meanwhile, West was among the top five for disposals (33), kicks (20), marks (nine), and clearances (six).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tahs captain Scott Carlin<\/a> did his best to even the midfield battle in that bout, collecting 34 disposals and seven inside 50s. Elsewhere, Southern Districts had Matthew Johnston<\/strong> (20 handballs, six clearances), Jed Anderson<\/strong> (nine tackles), and Wyatt Ryan <\/strong>(36 hitouts) join Schwarze with league-leading numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
