AN IMPRESSIVE South Australian side will prepare to battle it out with Victoria as the SANFLW goes head-to-head with the VFLW next weekend. The 25-player squad will be cut to 22 by the weekend as the two sides will lock horns for the second consecutive season. Last year the VFLW got the upper hand, defeating the SANFLW, with the Croweaters looking to exact some revenge during the Gather Round festivities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The SANFLW selection panel was chaired by commentator Phil Aspinall <\/em><\/strong>and will be coached by Woodville-West Torrens mentor Narelle Smith <\/em><\/strong>who had previously held the role of chair. Last year’s best on ground for the Croweaters – Christina Leuzzi – went on to be drafted by the Crows mid-season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In 2026, the squad is headlined by reigning SANFLW Best and Fairest winner Zoe Venning<\/a>, as well as the likes of Jade Halfpenny<\/a>, Isobel Kuiper<\/a> and Laitiah Huynh<\/a>, all of whom have donned the tri-colours before. Among those fresh faces are former Docker Holly Ifould<\/a> who returns back to South Adelaide, as well as over-age prospects hoping to keep their names in draft contention such as Mikaylah Antony<\/a> and Sophie Thredgold<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n All eight SANFLW clubs are represented with reigning premiers South Adelaide (seven) and grand finalists Woodville-West Torrens (five) leading the way.
