The\u00a0NAB AFL Academy<\/strong>\u00a0will give supporters a chance to see the top end talent of the 2016 draft in action, when they face Werribee’s VFL team on Friday night.<\/p>\n

The match begins at 4.35pm at the MCG before the Collingwood and Richmond clash.<\/p>\n

The academy travelled to America in January and spent time at the IMG Academy in Florida. The level two squad is made up of the best 35 Under 18 players in the country and they will be keen to put on a good showing in front of recruiters at the MCG.<\/p>\n

Early names who have been thrown about as possible No.1 pick at the 2016 draft include West Australian midfielder\u00a0Sam Petrveski-Seton<\/strong>, Victorian small forward\u00a0Ben Ainsworth<\/strong>\u00a0and NSW\/ACT defender\u00a0Harrison Macreadie<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The NAB AFL academy also includes eight\u00a0players who are eligible to be selected as academy players for the eastern states. Highly touted prospect\u00a0Harrison Macreadie<\/strong>, Tall midfielder\u00a0Will Setterfield<\/strong>, Bendigo Pioneers captain\u00a0Kobe Mutch<\/strong>\u00a0and tall\u00a0Zac Sproule<\/strong>\u00a0headline the prospects available for GWS Giants to draft in 2016. Gold Coast are also set to have their first top 20 academy pick in their history with\u00a0Brad Scheer<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Jack Bowes<\/strong>\u00a0both included in the squad. Brisbane Lions won’t miss out with athletic utility\u00a0Jacob Allison<\/strong>\u00a0as well as\u00a0Jack Rolls<\/strong>\u00a0in the academy system.<\/p>\n

Victorians\u00a0Jy Simpkin<\/strong>\u00a0(four goals),\u00a0Myles Poholke<\/strong>\u00a0(28 disposals) and\u00a0Will Brodie<\/strong>\u00a0(27 disposals) impressed on the weekend and they will be keen on continuing their strong showing from the first TAC Cup game into the Academy matches.<\/p>\n

Victoria<\/strong>\u00a0is the most represented state with just over\u00a0one third of the AFL Academy members.<\/p>\n
