Starting on-ball, she was a constant presence around the stoppages, winning half a dozen clearances and continuing her incredible 2026 season. She made great decisions under pressure, frequently using quick one-twos to get involved in the play. Her overhead marking was a feature, notably taking a strong grab just inside 50 before delivering a lovely pass. She drove the ball down the ground effectively from defence and was clean when gathering off the back of packs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#3<\/strong> <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"156143\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/zoe-petrides\/\" target=\"_blank\">Zoe Petrides<\/a><strong> (Lions Academy)<\/strong><br><strong>Forward\/Midfielder | 165cm | 28\/09\/2008<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stats:<\/strong> 17 disposals, 2 marks, 1 tackle, 2 clearances, 1 inside 50, 1 rebound 50, 1 goal<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Petrides was a lively presence in the forward half and through the middle. She pushed up to half-forward well and constantly got into the right spots to transition the ball forward. Her brilliant reading of the play through traffic was a highlight, and she was rewarded with a goal in the final quarter after earning a free kick 25 metres out directly in front. Her looping handballs and effective short passing made her a reliable link-up option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#7<\/strong> <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"156141\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/ameleia-murray\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ameleia Murray<\/a><strong> (Lions Academy)<\/strong><br><strong>Midfielder | 161cm | 13\/09\/2009<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bottom-age talent covered the ground perfectly, starting on-ball and working hard to apply tackling pressure on the wing. Murray showed great reading of the play to intercept an errant kick and dish off at half-forward. She demonstrated her agility with a nice sidestep before launching a high kick to the wing, and her tackling was rewarded when she won a holding the ball free kick in the third term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#13<\/strong> <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"156299\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/summer-browning\/\" target=\"_blank\">Summer Browning<\/a><strong> (Suns Academy)<\/strong><br><strong>Wing | 166cm | 16\/12\/2008<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stats:<\/strong> 15 disposals, 3 marks, 5 inside 50s, 1 rebound 50<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Browning was a consistent driver of the ball from the wing, finishing with five inside 50s in her best game of the season. She started on the wing in each quarter and provided strong link-up play with quick hands inboard. Her intercept marking at half-forward was crucial, allowing her to kick to the most dangerous areas, and she was consistently involved in the final quarter, winning the ball back and delivering a lovely kick to a teammate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#21<\/strong> <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"156165\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/freya-ross\/\" target=\"_blank\">Freya Ross<\/a><strong> (Lions Academy)<\/strong><br><strong>Midfielder\/Forward | 169cm | 04\/11\/2008<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stats:<\/strong> 15 disposals, 2 marks, 7 tackles, 4 clearances<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ross was a fierce competitor around the ball, laying seven tackles and winning four clearances. Starting on-ball, she was clean when gathering and executed quick hands nicely. She showed her running capacity by charging from defence into the middle in the second quarter, and Ross looked to kick into the corridor when possible to open the game up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#23<\/strong> <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"156314\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/stephanie-aguinaldo\/\" target=\"_blank\">Stephanie Aguinaldo<\/a><strong> (Suns Academy)<\/strong><br><strong>Defender | 170cm | 04\/04\/2008<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stats:<\/strong> 15 disposals, 4 marks, 2 tackles, 1 clearance, 2 inside 50s, 4 rebound 50s<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aguinaldo was a composed and reliable presence in defence and consistently provided a rebounding force. She applied a great tackle on Walsh to cause a turnover and free kick, then followed up by kicking inside 50 well. Her quick, clean hands away from congestion were a feature of her composed performance in the back half. While she was slightly inaccurate in front of goal, missing two set shots, her presence was constantly felt. She showed quick, clean hands to dish off to teammates in better positions and competed well in the air to kick to the hotspot. She showed excellent vision to hit the corridor and executed a brilliant passage down the wing where she sidestepped through traffic, took a bounce, and kicked away. She laid a great tackle on Matilda Lange to win a free kick, and while she missed that set shot, she made amends in the third quarter with a goal from 35 metres out directly in front. She showed great team-first mentality by centring the ball from the goal line to set up Cooper for a goal, and her ability to break away between the arcs was notable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#30 <\/strong><a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"156324\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/grace-cooper\/\" target=\"_blank\">Grace Cooper<\/a><strong> (Suns Academy)<\/strong><br><strong>Tall Forward | 177cm | 04\/10\/2009<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stats:<\/strong> 12 disposals, 2 marks, 5 tackles, 1 clearance, 3 inside 50s, 4 goals, 1 behind<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cooper was the most dominant forward on the ground, slamming home four goals in a brilliant display. She pounced on a loose ball in the pocket for her first, marked on the lead for her second, and snapped her third out of nothing from close range. She applied great tackling pressure for a tall player and took a strong intercept mark at half-forward. Her highlight came in the third quarter when she took the ball out of the ruck and slammed home a goal, showcasing her ability to impact the scoreboard when resting forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ALLIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#1<\/strong> <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"169317\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/evie-ward\/\" target=\"_blank\">Evie Ward<\/a><strong> (Tasmania Devils)<\/strong><br><strong>Defender | 172cm | 29\/10\/2008<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stats: <\/strong>15 disposals, 4 tackles, 4 inside 50s<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ward provided strong drive and composure, frequently pushing up the ground to deliver the ball inside 50. She showed great agility to dance around Murray and find an inboard target, and her intercepting on the wing allowed her to thump the ball forward. The Swans Academy member showed great strength to win a one-on-one in the pocket and shrug a tackler, and her lovely handball set up Rock&#8217;s second goal, then almost a match-winner to Walsh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#6 <\/strong><a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"178929\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/frances-walsh-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">Frances Walsh<\/a> <strong>(Swans Academy)<\/strong><br><strong>Wing | 173cm | 30\/03\/2008<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stats: <\/strong>22 disposals, 2 marks, 1 clearance, 5 inside 50s, 1 behind<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Walsh was one of the Allies&#8217; best, finding plenty of the ball on the wing and delivering with precision. She produced a brilliant individual passage in the third quarter, executing a weighted handball in traffic, continuing her run inside 50, and lacing out a pass perfectly for a goal assist. She also set up Curry with an elite pass after an intercept, and was unlucky to hit the post with a snap late in the game which could have been the match-winner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#10 <\/strong><a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"165634\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/matilda-lange\/\" target=\"_blank\">Matilda Lange<\/a><strong> (Tasmania Devils)<\/strong><br><strong>Midfielder\/Forward | 30\/01\/2009<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stats: <\/strong>17 disposals, 2 marks, 3 tackles, 7 clearances, 1 inside 50, 2 rebound 50s, 1 behind<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lange was a force around the stoppages, winning seven clearances with her explosive power. She consistently shrugged tackles and used quick hands to release runners on the outside. Her sidestepping and ability to run in and out of trouble at defensive stoppages were impressive. She also provided a strong target up forward, taking a massive contested mark in the final quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#12<\/strong> <a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"178927\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/charlotte-tidemann\/\" target=\"_blank\">Charlotte Tidemann<\/a> <strong>(Swans Academy)<\/strong><br><strong>Wing\/Defender | 169cm | 08\/08\/2008<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stats:<\/strong> 11 disposals, 2 marks, 2 tackles, 6 inside 50s, 2 rebound 50s<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tidemann was an aggressive runner who constantly looked to drive the ball inside 50. She showed great resilience to stand up in a tackle in defence, dish off, and follow up to kick long down the line. She ran aggressively to create options and showed great unselfishness in the final quarter, passing off a set shot from 40 metres to set up Henley for a goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>#13 <\/strong><a data-type=\"player\" data-id=\"178908\" class=\"_dc_spo\" href=\"\/afl\/player\/evie-bowie\/\" target=\"_blank\">Evie Bowie<\/a> <strong>(Swans Academy)<\/strong><br><strong>Midfielder\/Forward | 170cm | 31\/12\/2008<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stats: <\/strong>12 disposals, 2 marks, 3 tackles, 3 clearances, 1 inside 50, 1 goal, 1 behind<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bowie was tough and persistent around the contest. She went in hard to get the ball away under pressure and produced an incredible play in the third quarter where she was cleaned up on the wing, stayed involved, won the ball at the next stoppage, and kicked a great goal.
