<\/a><\/p>\nBELTINGS, upsets and amazing individual performances were among the highlights of Round 6 in the TAC Cup.<\/p>\n
In the Looking Ahead article, Dandenong Stingrays<\/strong> and Northern Knights<\/strong> was predicted to be the most one-sided contest of the round.<\/p>\n It lived up to all expectations, with the Stingrays running away with it by 99 points<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n The day became more about how many goals Tom De Koning<\/strong> could kick \u2013 he had six by half-time and nine by the final siren.<\/p>\n It was a relatively tight first quarter with four goals to three in favour of the home side, but after that, it was 20 goals to four in a complete domination.<\/p>\n In the second match of the round, Geelong Falcons had a comfortable 40-point win over Western Jets to reaffirm their top four hopes<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n They led from start to finish and kicked six goals to zero in the second term to hold a 54-point half-time advantage.<\/p>\n The Jets booted nine goals to six after half-time, but it was too little, too late, as Pat Dowling<\/strong> stood up for the Falcons with five goals.<\/p>\n North Ballarat Rebels<\/strong> also secured a spot in the eight with some breathing space after a 39-point win<\/a><\/strong> over Oakleigh Chargers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The Rebels had to do it the hard way for the first three quarters, leading by 13 points at the final break, before kicking away with a five goals to one final term.<\/p>\n AFL Academy players Hugh McCluggage<\/strong> and Jarrod Korewha<\/strong> were among the Rebels best.<\/p>\n Bendigo Pioneers<\/strong> kept their season alive with a 21-point upset win<\/a> over Eastern Ranges<\/strong>.<\/p>\n In a surprise to most, the Pioneers booted nine goals to one in a stunning third quarter to open up a 39-point last break lead.<\/p>\n The Ranges hit hard late, but they could not come away with the four points.<\/p>\n Joshua Begley<\/strong> and Jaidyn Stephenson<\/strong> stood up for the Ranges with nine goals between them, while Angus Schumacher<\/strong> was among the best for the Pioneers.<\/p>\n Calder Cannons<\/strong> proved too good for a weakened Murray Bushrangers<\/strong> outfit, defeating them by 54 points<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n Karl Brown<\/strong> booted another bag of six, meaning he has slotted 15 in the past fortnight.<\/p>\n
