Norwood finished second at 9-4-1 and won both regular-season encounters with the Eagles. The Redlegs could not quite complete their comeback in the second semi-final, but earned the rematch by holding North Adelaide at bay, 8.4 (52) to 5.9 (39), in a preliminary final that featured 11 lead changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is precious little separating the season\u2019s two best sides. Norwood\u2019s two regular-season wins, especially its 38-point Round 14 performance, prove the Redlegs have the midfield depth and forward spread to take control. However, Woodville-West Torrens\u2019 response in the second semi-final was equally instructive: it won the contested battle early, protected the lead when Norwood surged, and earned an extra week to prepare. With O\u2019Neill\u2019s scoring power, Moore and Lynch capable of driving repeat entries, and Cutting providing a strong ruck platform, the Eagles get the narrow nod to turn consecutive minor premierships into their maiden flag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
